Kathy and Dan were crowned at last year's 4-H activities night. A new king and queen, the third pair in as many years, will be crowned on the opening night of the fair. Ohio Girl Crowned Dairy Princess Jane Elizabeth Logan, 20, of Mounty Gilead, Ohio, was crowned American Dairy Princess for 1970-71 at the 16th annual contest in Boston, staged before more than 1500 persons attending the 85th convention banquet of the Holstein-Friesian Assocation of America. She succeeds Frances Mary Bispo, Merced, Calif. Named as alternate Princess was Debbie Huffman, Minnewauken, N. D. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Logan, the new princess is 5’ 6” tall with blue eyes and brown hair. She lives with her parents and three brothers. Jeff, 22, Ted, 14. and Kent. 12 on an 890 acre dairy farm with a herd of 80 Holstein producing 950.000 pounds of milk annually. A Danforth Award winner in her freshman year, Miss Logan is a sophomore in foods and nutrition at Ohio State University. She was 1969 Ohio State Fair Queen.

Alternate princess, Debbie Huffman, 20. is 5’ 7” tall, has blue eyes and brown hair. A junior at the University of North Dakota, where she is a scholarship winner, Debbie lives with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Earl D. Huffman, five brothers and one sister on a 670 acre farm. Each of the 30 finalists in the American Dairy Association Princess Contest had served as Dairy Princess in her home state. The new princess received a $2,000 cash scholarship to further her education; her alternate, SSOO. Judging was based on natural attractiveness, dairy background, personality, poise and speaking ability. As the new “First Lady” of the dairy industry, the Princess will “speak up" for milk and milk products in print and on the air. Her public relations role will be to point out the nutritive benefits of dairy foods and to prombte them on a non-brand, generic The new American Dairy Princess represents the dairyfarmer members of ADA and the entire dairy industry.

|h Hl MISS NORTH WEBSTER — This year’s Miss North Webster in the fair queen contest is petite Susie Brower, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Brower. Susie stands five feet, two inches tali and weighs 105 pounds. She is 17-years-old and will be a senior at Wawasee high school this fall. Susie is a green eyed blonde. Her hobbies include swimming and skiing.
