4-H Judging Currently Underway At Warsaw
This week is the moment of truth, joy, discouragement and encouragement for many of the county's 4-H youth — Project judging began on Monday and will continue through today (Wednesday). Judging is being done in the women's building and in the Shrine building. The girls take their projects to the fair-grounds by clubs and there they are judged by professional judges The judging is open and the girls and their mothers are encouraged to attend. Dress Revue The annual dress revue judging will be held on Thursday at the Lincoln school. At that time the garments are entered by categories such as coats, suits, forma Is. school dresses, date or party dresses and separates. In this competition the girls are judged on choice of pattern, color, material, accessories and overall appearance. A winner and alternate is chosen in each category. These will be announced at the public dress revue to be held at the Warsaw high school on the opening night of the fair. SHEEP EXHIBIT AUGUST 5 The open sheep classes at the Kosciusko county fair will be shown on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the sheep barn at 1 pm. The
livestock may be brought to the grounds any time after 7 a.m. and will be released at the end of the show. Rudy Ross of South Whitley is superintendent of the sheep department. Dave Wiesehan is secretary. Assisting in the showing will be Bob Norris. Voyle Osborn, Wilbur Latimer, James Thomas, Calvin Dodson and Stanley Scott. 1970 Fair Dates July 27-Aug. 1— Elkhart Co. MISS SYRACUSE 1— Jill White, lovely daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon White of r 3 Syracuse, is Miss Syracuse I. Jill is 16 and will be a senior at Wawasee high school. She is five feet, four inches tall and weighs 104 pounds. Jill has blonde hair and blue eyes. Her hobbies are art. water color or pencil, and water skiing. MISS MENTONE — Pretty Jeri Pritchard is Miss Mentone in the fair queen contest. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pritchard. Jeri is 16. She weighs 120 pounds and stands five feet, one inch tall. Her eyes and hair are brown. Her hobbies include reading, swimming and sewing. Lj MISS WARSAW I — One of the three girls from Warsaw in this year's fair queen contest is Patti Silveus. Miss Silveus is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Silveus of 1824 E. Center St., and has the title of Miss Warsaw I. She is 17-years-oid and has blonde hair and blue eyes. Patti is five foot, one inch tall and weighs 105 pounds. Her hobbies are swimiping and boating. BE A 4-H'ER Boys and girls between 9 and 19 years of age can join a 4-H Club or sign up for short-term projects.
