BAKED BACON FOR A CROWD With tomatoes coming on, it is a good time to serve BLT’s, (bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches*. If you are serving more than two people, frying that much bacon is a real chore. It is especially difficult to keep it all warm and crisp until the last piece is fried. Try baking the bacon the next time. It is much faster and you don't have grease all over the range. Set the oven at 400 degrees and place the bacon in the drip pan of your broiler or in a jelly roll pan. Separate the pieces of bacon to form a single layer. If the bacon is too cold to separate, place the entire pound in the oven for five minutes until it's warm enough to separate without tearing. Cook for 15 minutes or until it reaches the desired crispness. Drain it on paper towel and serve. And you have BLT’s for a crowd without all the mess Another idea to save time is bake the bacon ahead of time. Bake an entire pound, drain on paper towels Wrap the desired number of pieces in foil and store in the refrigerator. To heat, place the foil packet in a skillet, open the foil and heat for two or three minutes. And you have hot bacon for a quick breakfast. Recipe: Carmel Carn 2 Tablespoons light Karo One third cup water 2 cup brown sugar 4 pound butter 5 quarts popped popcorn (salt if desired) Cook the ingredients to 275 degrees. Remove from heat and add 4 teaspoon soda Stir and po&r over popcorn.

Sailing Is Safer When You Make Sure Your Boat Is In Shipshape Condition

When you get into your boat, don’t jump into it, unless you want to get all wet all too soon. Step into the boat as near the center of it as possible. And don’t rock the boat. Let rock ‘n’ roll be confined to the phonograph. It is of paramount importance
