Money, money, money. Sometimes it seems that all people talk about is money. Some hoard it, others let it slip through their fingers. But, whether spender or saver, no one is unmindful of it. Sometimes it seems as though even in church we hear too much about money. Isn't that the one place where money shouldn't be mentioned at all? No. It isn't money that is at fault, but our attitude toward it. In earlier times, we gave of our services, trading one thing for another. Today we use money as a medium of exchange. It is the spirit in our use of that exchange, in both our spending and saving, that counts. So, give to the church of your choice. Give generously, if you can. But even if you can't give — go. l’'*T '.a. Christian Science LessonSermon For Sunday Will-power, hypnotism, and occult practices are the opposite of control through spiritual understanding. as explained in the lesson-sermon to be read in all Christian Science churches this Sunday. Bible citations point out that belief in evil forces has existed through the ages, under various names. The subject of the LessonSermon is: “Ancient and Modem Necromancy, alias Mesmerism and Hypnotism. Denounced.” One of the citations from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, states: “Christian Science reveals Truth and Love as the motive-powers of man. Will — blind, stubborn, and headlong — cooperates with appetite and passion. From this cooperation arises its evil. From this also comes its powerlessness, since all power belongs to God. good.” Vacation Bible School At Milford Christian Church Vacation Bible school will be held at the Milford Christian church for eight days beginning Tuesday. June 9. and continuing through Thursday, June 18. The theme for the VBS is “God Cares Today.” Classes will begin at 8:30 a.m. and last until 11 a.m. Classes will be open to nursery children, ages three and four through junior high. A special "Teen Time” is being planned this year for an seventh and eighth graders. Each day they will be going to a secret destination for their Bible study and recreation. On Wednesday, June 17, a picnic lunch will be heid at the church for all children through sixth grade. On Tuesday evening. June 18, a closing program will be held at 7:30 p.m. All parents and friends are invited to attend. An invitation is extended to all young people in the area to attend these classes.
