REMEMBER WHEN IT HAPPENED IN SYRACUSE TWO YEARS AGO Paid Glass and son Paul of Fort Wayne were injured last week in a car crash near Bluffton. Mr. Glass is the son-in-law of Mrs. Minnie Brinkman of here. Mr. Glass, who delivers meat to stores and restaurants in the Syracuse area, is well known here. Mrs. Mamie Weisner, 75, died Tuesday in the Goshen hospital. Surviving are a son, a daughter, seven grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, three sisters, and a brother. 'Mrs. William Myers of r 3 left Saturday to spend the remainder of the winter at New Port Richey, Fla. Mrs. Anna Mary Davis sustained injuries at 3:40 p.m. Monday when her car skidded on ice into the path of an oncoming truck. She was admitted to the Goshen hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee Chase are the parents of a son bom February 6 in the Goshen hospital. FIVE YEARS AGO Mrs. Ruth Rapp was reappointed to the Syracuse public library board. Her term is about to expire. The directors of the Lakeland Youth Center, Inc., held their monthly meeting in the youth center at 8 p.m. February 7. Specialist 2 Michael Brinkman, who has been stationed in Hawaii for the past year, returned there after a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Brinkman. Ronald Moore, r 3, entered the Goshen hospital Thursday and was released Friday. Mrs. Alma Orn was a Sunday dinner guest in the home of her brother, Alva Pinkerton, and wife near New Paris. TEN YEARS AGO Syracuse will have a street fair early in July, according to plans announced by the Syracuse police and fire departments. Reports of robins in the vicinity came in last week. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Parker are now in their new home at Tampa, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Johnson, r 2, will attend graduation ceremonies at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, 111., Saturday. Mrs. Noble Myers was hostess to the Ladies of the Round Table

TWENTY YEARS AGO The Syracuse volunteer fire department will hold a public party at Wayne’s Grill Monday night, Feb. 27, to raise money to purchase more equipment for the department. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gray, who spent the past six weeks in Florida, plan to start home this week. Mrs. Ida Guy, 82, of south of town, suffered a fracture of her left hip when she fell on ice near her home. Mrs. Anna Ross, 76, died Monday in the home of a daughter at Wakarusa. Survivors include two other daughters. Mrs. Alva Nicolai has word from her nephew, Owen Gertsch, that his mother, Mrs. Elsa Gertsch of Chicago, is confined to a hospital there following a bad fall some time ago. FORTY-FIVE YEARS AGO Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lung and family of Goshen spent Sunday in the home of his sister, Mrs. Nathan Insley. C. E. Brady, who is employed at Gary, returned to his work on Monday after spending two weeks at home. A son was born February 1 to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mick at Goshen. CHURCH SAINT ANDREW’S UNITED METHODIST The Women’s Society of Christian Service will hold its luncheon at 12 o’clock on February 19. The UMYF is having a calendar project, see an “Angel” or a “Saint,” to get your birthday or anniversary on the calendar. The beginning of Lent will be observed with communion February 11 at 7 in the church. WEEK END WITH PARENTS Mr. and Mrs. Urban Bauer of Cissna Park, 111., were guests of her parents.
