Fairfield was second with 75, Concord third with 74 and others followed with Fort Wayne North Side taking fourth place with 52 points. North Wood scoring 47 points, Wawasee 46. Lakeland 29 and Jimtown 26. Undefeated Ken Wilson of Wawasee captured first place honors in the 165-pound class as he won over Ed Jones of Fairfield. It was Jones' first loss. Roger Korenstra of Wawasee placed third in the heavyweight class. Jay DeSomer also placed third in the 115-pound class CONCORD DOWNS WAWASEE MATMEN Concord defeated the Wawasee Warriors wrestling team in a Northern Lakes Conference match held last Thursday afternoon at WHS The final score was 27-16 to give the Minutemen the victory. Warriors B Team Ends Winning Streak The Wawasee B team, flush with its four-way tournament victory at Pierceton last Wednesday night, bowed to the Akron B team at Wawasee high gym on Saturday night. Pinal score: Akron 53, Wawasee 47. While many fans thought the game would be a re-match of the triple oxertime a week ago Monday night in the first round of the B team four-way tourney, the Warriors Saturday night were without their favorites, Tim Blue and John Hamilton. Both had been moved up to the first string. The B Warriors held a narrow 13-12 lead at the end of the first quarter and were behind 22-25 at half-time, ahead again 36-35 at the end of the third quarter. The Wawasee B team continued its undefeated record by copping the four-way B team tournament in its final stanza at the Pierceton high school gym last Wednesday night. Wawasee won - over a hard, competitive team from South Whitley with a final score of 50 to 45. The outcome, however, was in doubt until the final moments of play. The game was tied 10-all at the end of the first quarter, but

Wawasee was favored 27 to 22 at half time and 40 to 36 at threequarter time. Wawasee didn’t have an easy time gaining entry into the finals. They narrowly escaped at the hands of Akron in the tourney opener last Monday night 72 to 70 in a triple overtime. Pierceton, on the other hand, was defeated by South Whitley on Monday night, and dropped the consolation game on Wednesday night to Akron in a real thriller.

North Webster Wins Junior High Tourney
North Webster's junior high basketball team came off well Saturday afternoon, winning the fourway tourney over Central Noble, 50 to 32. Webster coach Phil Dick’s juniors won their way to the finals by defeating Milford in the morning, 41 to 26. The other morning game saw Central Noble win over Syracuse, 43 to 26. and in the afternoon consolation game Milford v.on over Syracuse, 42 to 22. Bob Long coached the Milford team, Tom Jones the Syracuse team, and Jim Allison the Central Noble team. The points of the championship game are as follows: , " NO.
