FORMER RESIDENT KILLED, BROTHER INJURED SUNDAY Word has reached acquaintances and friends here of the death of John Plew, a former North Webster resident. Larry Plew is reported hospitalized as a result of the same automobile accident. The accident occurred when the boys were hunting on an Arizona Indian reservation Sunday morning. 1 No other details are available at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Plew, who reside near Phoenix, Ariz., are parents of John and Larry. —NW—TO CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY Rev. and Mrs. J. L. Kline will observe their 56th wedding anniversary on New Year’s day as dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Orva Miller and Sally. -NWCOMMUNITY NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm (Bud) Beezley and children drove to Minier, 111., last Wednesday to spend Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Hunterman. They returned home Saturday. Randy Grimes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Grimes, is spending Christmas vacation as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Spry and Gregg at Sebring, Fla. Misses Sally Miller, Lynn Wood, and Karen Rowe of North Webster and Vicki Little of Milford were guests of Miss Susan Stone of Syracuse as she observed her 17th birthday Sunday. A Mexican dinner and musical entertainment were enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barrett and family spent Christmas day with the Hollis Barrett family at Boswell. Mrs. Hattie Beezley accompanied her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Koher, as far as Elkhart on Sunday afternoon where she visited her sister, Mrs. Calvin Nine, and husband. Mr. Nine is reported not too well at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Koher continued on to South Bend and stopped for Mrs. Beezley on their return. An ice skating party is being planned by the Church of God youth group as New Year’s Eve entertainment. After the skating, the group plans to meet at the church for the showing of a film and to watch the New Year in. The J. L. Pearson family was together Christmas day for the first time in eight years. James, of Cushing, Okla., arrived Tuesday and First Lt. and Mrs. R. K. Pearson and daughter arrived later that same evening from Tarawa Terrace, N. C. Mrs. Marvin Coy and sons, Jimmy and Wesley, are spending a few days with her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Stanfield, while Mr. Coy is undergoing tests and observation at the Ann Arbor, Mich., hospital.

Senator Sullivan Os Peru Calls Remap Plan 'Extremely Unfair’
State Senator Leo Sullivan of Peru, Ind., representing Miami, Cass and Fulton counties in the upper house of the state legislature, this week called the reman plan as promulgated by three federal judges “extremely unfair both to the office holders and to the public in which they serve, by serving only portions of six counties and ignoring county boundaries.” Sullivan defeated Robert Peterson, two-term incumbent of Rochester, Ind.,for the state senate in

Whitcomb, in a letter to Republican leaders in the legislature, gave them until January 12 to come up with a feasible alternate remap plan for passage. He has threatened to call a special session in an effort to override the proposed remap plan. 103 Pints Of Blood Collected At Warsaw Steve Devenney, Kosciusko county Red Cross blood program chairman, announced that 103 pints of blood were collected at the December 29 Bloodmobile Visit at the American Legion Home in Warsaw when 117 people presented themselves, 14 for the first time. Of this number 17 made replacement donations. The Chairman of Volunteers, Mrs. Lee H. Pattison, was assisted by Mrs. Dayton Fellows, Mrs. Howard Horn, Mrs. Dale Morehouse, Mrs. Eva Cartwright and Mrs. Ralph Brubaker as hospital volunteers, while the office volunteers were Mrs. Jerry Carey, Mrs. Herb Stier, Mrs. R. W. Whitney, Mrs. James Latta, Mrs. I. C. Chapel, Mrs. Wallace Stouder and Miss Joanne Merkle. Mrs. Grace Beaman, Mrs. Dean Dowty, Mrs. John Chinworth, Mrs. Kendall Taft, Mrs. Robert Frantz, Miss Susan Chinworth, Mrs. Wm. Orr and Mrs. Walter Koontz provided nursing services for the day.
