Brownie Troop 222 Holds Oct. 19 Investiture Brownie troop 222 of Milford held its investiture service in the fire station on October 19. The second year brownies were in charge of the investiture with Vicki Kreider giving the welcome. Laura Herr, Kathy Troup, Donna Newby and Jill Hartman took charge of the flag ceremony. The new members repeated the brownie promise and received their brownie pins to officially become girl scouts. The second year brownies received their year pins. The “Brownie Smile Song” was sung and June McCormick gave the closing speech. Refreshments wei4 served by Debbie Dye and Julia Rhodes. The mothers of the troop are planning a bake sale on November 15 with proceeds to buy scouting equipment and materials for crafts. MILFORD LOCALS Mr. and Mrs. Larry Brown and son Todd of Warsaw were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Brown’s grandmother, Mrs. Ernest Krauter of Milford. Mrs. Brown is the former Mona Carol Clayton, the daughter of the late James Clayton. Mr. and Mrs. John Gardner of r 1 Milford spent Saturday evening with Mrs. Dorothy Johnson at Syracuse. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Yoder had as their week end guests, Bob, Ron, Judy and Ted Yoder of Goshen. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yoder of Goshen called Sunday afternoon.
SISTERS HOST BRIDAL SHOWER OCTOBER 17 Mrs. Elmer Hartter of Milford, assisted by her sisters, Mrs. Melba Rensberger of Milford and Mrs. Maurice Crow of Syracuse, entertained at a bridal shower on Friday evening, Oct. 17, in honor of Miss Martha Robinson of South Bend, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson of Nappanee. Miss Robinson will be married to Gary Greiger of South Bend on December 13 in South Bend. The gift table was decorated in keeping with the chosen colors of the bride-to-be. Refreshments of cherry tarts, open face sandwiches, nuts, mints and punch were served to 25 guests. Out of town guests were present from South Bend, Nappanee, Elkhart, and Syracuse. Miss Ruth Edgar of Warsaw visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gilbert and daughters on Monday. Mrs. Gilbert and Miss Edgar were luncheon guests of Mrs. Georgia Buster, Syracuse.

Migrant Program Seen By CRC The Columbian Reading Circle met Monday, Oct. 27, with Mrs. Harry Dale Doty. The meeting was called to order with 16 members and two guests responding to the question “What Improvement I would Like To See In Milford?” Mrs. Darrel Om was in charge of the program for the evening, the lesson to be given on community service. She chose to review for the club, with pictures and comments, the services rendered by the “Migrant Program” in Elkhart and Kosciusko county. The growth of the program and the wonderful work these people are doing for the children of this area’s migrant workers was of great interest to each member present. The hostess served a delicious dessert of lemon angel pie, mixed nuts and coffee. The next meeting will be in the home of Mrs. Arlo Beiswanger with Mrs. Roger Graff serving as the leader for the evening.
MRS. TROUP ENTERTAINS The Fellowship class of the Syracuse Church of God met October 21 in the home of Mrs. Phyllis Troup. There were 11 present with Mrs. Lillie Niles as a guest. Mrs. Troup was in charge of the meeting. Mrs. Walter Williams read Second Peter 3 and Lydia Darr gave prayer. Dale Custer of Purdue university spent the week end in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Custer of r 1 Milford.
