logle and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Baumgartner enjoyed a trip to New Jersey and New York and sent a card from Niagara Falls. Jeffrey Maggart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Geller, sent a card from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Mrs. Richard Brunjes, who has worked at the library this summer, and her son Allen Brunjes spent their vacation in Canada. They went byway of northern Michigan and spent some time at Sault Sainte Marie, and then to
various places in Saskatchewan. Their card mailed from Regina where they have relatives. We are anticipating an interesting fall season, with new, beautiful and interesting books for the children's department as well as the teen-agers and adults. How long has it been since you have used your library card? You don’t have to be an astronaut to discover new frontiers. Many people find new frontiers right in the local library. Why not come in and check the card catalog and per- ' haps you find new interests too. The golden age of learning is from one to five years of age. Don’t lose a minute ... get your child to the Milford Public Library. You will find picture book stories to read aloud, and poems for the very young, or books they can read. Libraries give your child the world to explore. We are planning to have story hours Saturday afternoons, in the near future. Bring or send your children. Dates will be announced later. POLLEN VICTIMS BEWARE There are 16 million hay fever and asthma suffers who are still hoping doctors will come up with some type of a cure for their suffering during the ragweed pollen season. The figure of 22,000,000 (including the 16 million mentioned above) is said by Gay Pauley, United Press’s women’s editor in New York, to be the accurate number suffering from all types of allergies caused by the pollen. It is said there is new hope from scientists who are seeking to purify a pollen used for injections against what is causing the problem, allergy to pollen. There are many persons in the Lakeland area who suffer greatly during this season. A large number seek help by going further north or west but this does not help in all cases. All residents can help by keeping weeds cut. Bret and Bianca, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Larry A. Scheuer of Syracuse, spent two days at Plymouth with their grandparents and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. James Scheuer and son, Darrel.
