* facts about £ ‘OUR TOWN’ Milford, Ind. By JERI SEELY We are in debt to Sidney Reid of Chicago, formerly of Our Town, for the above photo of the old Leesburg sign and his grandmother, the late Mrs. Omar Neff (Ludwig). Leesburg, according to Mr. Reed, was a stage coach stop. And, as one can readily tell by the sign, was a temporary county seat. Levi Lee settled there in August of 1835—just 134 years ago this month—with county officers being elected in the Lee cabin on April 4, 1836. The first court in the county was held there in June of 1836. Will run more of Mr. Reed’s photos and more information in the weeks to come. As mentioned last week we now have several old photos of Milford, but really could use some help with the needed information. This week winds up the summer activities of the Little League, T-ball league and the Pony League. On Thursday the Little League championship game will be played at 6:30 p.m. It’s Campbell’s vs Baumgartner’s and promises to be an action filled game. Then, cn Friday the Little League all-star game will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a watermelon feed being held at 7 p.m. and the awards program at 7:30. Robert Long, jrt the junior
