The theme will be utilized on promotional materials and advertising of the Tourist Division, Indiana Department of Commerce, thruout the coming year Folz made the announcement at a State House news conference this morning. Noting a mushrooming trend of automobile pleasure travel, Folz commented that Indiana’s location insures that millions of motorists will pass through the state each year. He went on to say that Indiana in its own right is fast becoming a center of recreational and cultural activities. “We have many outstanding college and professional athletic teams and events and, our state is making great strides forward in providing entertainemnjf activities,” the lieutenant governor said. o “Now we must let the rest of the country know what our state
It is estimated that about 65 million people went fishing at least once last year — ranging from little ones just barely bigger than the fish they caught to senior types whose retirement has permitted fishing to become a fulltime occupation. More boys and girls each year are learning to fish in summer camp programs and in instructional programs operated by tackle manufacturers, schools, churches and civic organizations. Fishing has become a featured attraction on family camping expeditions, involving mother and dad and all the youngsters.

Bluegills Biting At Wawasee Northeastern Indiana: Salamonie Reservoir anglers are taking some largemouth and smallmouth bass and a few bluegills. Anglers fishing in the Tri-Coun-ty area are doing well. Bluegills are being taken from top water at North Otter, Hogback, Golden and Big Bauer lakes. Largemouth bass are biting on crickets and redworms at Hogback, Silver and Hamilton lakes. Good northern pike catches are reported at Round lake. Bluegills are being caught at Appleman, Little Turkey, Adams, and Big Long lakes in LaGrange county. Also, they are catching bass at Shipshewana lake, and brown , and rainbow trout are being taken on night crawlers at Oliver lake. In Noble county Big Long and High lakes are providing good catches of largemouth bass are catches of largemouth bass. Also, being taken from the narrows at Chain O’ Lakes State Park. Some catches of crappies are reported from Steinbarger lake and channel catfishing in the St. Joseph river at Cedarville. At Tri-County State Fish and Game area bluegills are biting on worms. Also anglers are getting bluegills from Chapman and Center lakes. Winona Lake reports silver bass and largemouth bass are comirig out of the Tippecanoe river. At Lake Wawasee bluegills are being caught in top water, as well as largemouth and a few northern pikes.
