■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■a ? ' I How You Can I Hold Down the Cost of Your Auto Insurance ■ I Auto insurance rates are essentially made by people who drive cars. You, like every motorist, have a hand in determining how much you pay for your insurance. Here are some suggestions, some particular and some general, which cap help you keep your auto rate down: ■ If you own more than one car, insure all of them with the same company to take advantage of the lower combination rate given by most companies. ■ If you have a young driver in the family, have him or her take an approved driver training course. This may mean a 5 to 10 per cent reduction in collision and liability coverages. ■ If a young driver irj your family is away at school or college mote than 100 miles from home, a premium credit is allowed under many company rating plans. ■ Buy a deductible policy, for the higher the deductible amount the lower the premium. Collision coverage with a SIOO deductible can be as much as 30 per cent less than a SSO deductible. ■ Make sure your car is properly fisted with your insurance company. If you formerly drove your auto to work and now don’t, you may qualify for lower rates. Similarly, if you used your car for business purposes but now no longer do, notify your insurance company to take advantage of lower premiums. But above all, if you really want to help control auto insurance rates: ■ Urge your legislators and law enforcement agencies to make and enforce traffic laws aimed at taking dangerous drivers off the roads and keeping them off. ■ And since the amount of auto insurance premium depends on the amount of money insur- , ance companies have out for claims, be a safe driver. e O Ask Us About Our 25% "GOOD STUDENT” DISCOUNT
