1969 Hoosier Hunting Dates Recommended 1969 Hoosier hunting dates for woodcock, snipe, rails and gallinules were announced today by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. They are within the framework outlined by Fish and Wildlife Service of the U. S. Department of Interior. Woodcock may be hunted in Indiana for 65 consecutive days beginning September 20 and extending through November 23. The bag limit will be five daily and ten in possession. The common (Wilson’s) snipe

Rails (sora and Virginia) may be hunted from September 1 through November 9. This season is 70 consecutive days, with a daily bag and possession limit of 25 singly or in the aggregate of the two species. The king and clapper rails are protected in Indiana.
