BISHOPS HOST JULY 4 PICNIC Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bishop were hosts for a family picnic on the evening of July 4. It was also the birthday of Mrs. Bishop. Attending were Mrs. Edna Byrer, Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Alber and daughters cf Warsaw, Miss Marsha Jontz of Silver Lake and Mr. and Mrs. 1 Robert Warren and baby.

ENTERTAIN IN HONOR OF DAUGHTER SHERRI Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hartman entertained on Monday evening in honor of the fourth birthday of their daughter Sherri. Ice cream and cake were served to Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McCann and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hartman, Kim and Randy. Mrs. Hartman entertained the neighborhood children in the afternoon at a party for Sherri.

Miss Lois Buckingham Feted At Bridal Shower Mrs. Gene Deatsman and Miss Rita O’Brian were hostesses last Tuesday night at the home of the former at a kitchen bridal shower honoring Miss Lois Buckingham. She will marry Larry Gill on August 17. Yellow and white, the chosen colors of the bride-elect, were featured in the decor. Sandwiches, punch and cake were served to 20 relatives and friends at- - tending. THURSDAY SUPPER AT LONG HOME HONORS SON BARRY Mr. and Mrs. Robert Long entertained Thursday at supper in honor of the birthday of their son Barry. Mrs. Mabel Krouse and Randy Hartman were guests. IN WASHINGTON WEDDING PARTY Mrs. Glen Kammerer and son Chad have returned to their home following a three week visit’with her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Paul Vinson at Washington. While there she attended the wedding of her brother. Lamar Vinson. She was one of the attendants. WHITE ELEPHANT SALE AT LEESBURG The Leesburg Eastern Star ladies are joining in the fun for Leesburg Days, Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12, with a White Elephant sale. Mrs. Lloyd (Jean) Gift, Worthy Matron,.is chairman of the event. A box for items has been placed at Kammerer’s Shell station for convenience. BUSY BEES IN MEETING Perry Township 4-H Busy Bees held their regular meeting at the Centenary United Methodist church with Miss Connie Stout in charge of the meeting. The president, Miss Cindy Reynolds was attending the Purdue Roundup in Lafayette. After the regular business Barbara Wallace and Patti Chrysler gave their demonstrations. It was reported that the group made $37 on their recent bake sale. The group is planning a picnic in September, in conjunction with the Perry Pacesetters club. COMMUNITY NEWS Allie Alfrey, attendent at the lagonier city dump, is a medical patient in Goshen hospital. Several young people from the First Methodist and Centenary United Methodist churches, are spending this week at Epworth Forest near North Webster. Final plans for the Eagles Auxiliary ice cream social to be held July 12 in the Eagles Hall, were made at their regular meeting last Tuesday evening.

Two Full Days Os Activities Members cf the Leesburg Merchan s Association under the direction of president Mrs. James (Millie) Engle are planning a festival called Leesburg Days for this coming Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12. » During the two-day event the Leesburg Successful Farmers 4-H club, the Tippy Lee club and the United Methodist church will sponsor diink stands, bazaar, fishing game and rummage sale A carnival will be set up in the town’s business block. »• The merchants will have eVents and the Eastern Star will feature a white elephant sale. Items made by the residents of the Alfran ni rsing home will be for sale in the downtown area and the Junior Tri Arts club will have a stand open which will include an old’car wreck. ( The New Edition will be featured at a teen street dance to be held just west 6f Randall’s garage. Friday The special event for Friday is the parade set to start at 7:30 p.m. Also the Leesburg Homemakers club ice cream social at the fire station and the Leesburg Farmerettes dress revue at 6 p.m. in the fire station. Sing Out Warsaw will be presented on the street at 8:15 p.m. Saturday The Little League tournament is set for Saturn day afternobn and evening with a Lions club chicken bar-b-que from 4 to 8 p.m. An Auction Sale will be held in the downtown area at 8 p.m.
