EASTERN STAR IN MEETING ON TUESDAY NIGHT o Members of chapter 287 Order of Eastern Star met Tuesday night at the Masonic Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Garlan Lowrey were acting associate matron and pat tron. Keith Felton served as worthy patron in the absence of Morris Huffman. Initiation was held for Mrs. Rebecca Carlin. Following the meeting all gathered in the dining room for refreshments. Mrs. Lillian Wallace and Mrs. Morris Huffman t decorated the tables 'with white daisies, silver stars and silver 'Candles. Mrs. Wallace assisted by other members served refreshments. There will be no further meetings until September. CELEBRATES SECOND BIRTHDAY Mrs. Larry Hartman entertained at a small birthday party , for her daughter, Kerri, who was two years old Friday. Guests were Vicki, Tcnya and David Hillery, Sherri Hartman, Mrs. Doris Cretcher and. Mrs. Albert Kammerer. —L—COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO MEET MONDAY, JULY 7 The Kosciusko County Historical Society will meet Monday, July 7, at the shrine building at the fairgrounds at 7:30 p.m. Garold Horrick of Warsaw will give highlights on the history of the Winona Interurban Railroad. OUSLEY son Mr. and Mrs. Orville Ousley of r 1 Leesburg are parents of a son born at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jufie 25, in the Murphy Medical Center. The little boy weighed six pounds, seven ounces at birth. The mother is the former Vonda Sue Webb. She seeks custody of two minor children. Fined In Warsaw Valerie D. Oppenheim, r 2 Leesburg, paid $24 fine in Warsaw city court for driving the wrong way on a one way street. Didn’t Stop DeVon R. Fingerle, r 2 Milford, paid $24 in the court of Robert Burner, Warsaw, for failure to stop on entering a highway from a highway. Marriage License Joseph A. Miller, 21, r 2 Milford, truck driver, and Loretta Katherine Crossland, 25, Mishawaka, have been issued a marriage license by Kosciusko clerk Bessie Himes. Pays Fine Malcolm Isaac Poe, Leesburg, was fined s2l on three counts — resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication — in judge Robert Burner’s court at Warsaw recently and ordered to make restitution for damages. He received a 60-day sentence to the county jail on the count of disorderly conduct, however, the judge suspended 53 days of the sentence. He also received sixinonth sentences to the state farm on two charges with 173 days of each being suspended. Public Intoxication James Meade, 35, Leesburg, was booked and charged -for public intoxication in Kosciusko county jail over the week end. The altar of Saint Andrews United Methodist church at Syracuse was decorated with candelabra and baskets of white carnations and aqua painted daisies for the marriage ceremony of Miss Christine Ann Sellers and Roger E. Cormican. Rev. August Lundquist, pastor of the church, officiated at the 3:30 p.m. Saturday rite in the presence of 125 guests. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Sellers, Syracuse, and Mrs. Georgia Cormican of North Webster and Aria Cormican of Ligonier. The church organist, Mrs. Norma Longenecker, presented organ selections. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was beautifully attired in a white silk organza gown with Vai lace trim. A sash encircled the high waistline of the bodice which featured a lace-edg-ed Peter Pan collar and long puff sleeves edged with lace. The floor length was adorned with organdy flowerettes and Swiss embroidery. A forward cluster of organza petals and flowers formed her attractive headpiece which secured a floor length veil. She carried white roses, aqua painted daisies and ivy. In Aqua Gowns Mrs. Paul Hasse, r 1 Syracuse, was her sister’s matron of honor. She chose a gown of aqua, empire styled of chiffon and taffeta. Her headpiece of aqua chiffon Rosetta’s leaves had white appliqued daisies with aqua centers. She carried a rose with white carnations and painted daisies. Miss Jodie Wiersch, Lawrence, Kans., was a bridesmaid as was Miss Debi Sellers, sister of the bride. Their gowns were the same as the matron of honor. Flower girls were Anita and Cindy Hasse, nieces of the bride. Ringbearer was Michael Byland of Syracuse. Miss Becky Eyer of Syracuse made the flower girls’ dresses, which were similar to the other attendants. The empire dresses were accented by puffed sleeves and detachable train. Their headpieces were the same as the other attendants. The best man was Rick White of North Webster. Groomsmen
were Danny Cormican of Tippecanoe and Don Jernigan of North Webster. Ushers were Ron Gillum of Warsaw and Paul Hasse of Syracuse. The mother of the bride wore a mint green gown with jeweled neck. Mrs. Cormican wore a spring flowered gown with V-neck and long sleeves. They wore corsages of yellow roses. American Legion Auxiliary Holds Installation President Mrs. Harry Haab presided at the July meeting of Ancil Geiger Unit 226, of Milford. The roll was called with a total of 37 senior members and two junior members being present. Mrs. Marvin Rapp led the members in singing “The Auxiliary Song” and “God of Our Fathers.” Mrs. Dale Stump reported on the books to be given to the library for the children’s department. Mrs. Haab and Mrs. Harold Freeman conducted the graduation ceremony for four junior members, Miss Joan Felkner, Miss Gloria Rapp, Miss Cathy Stamper and Miss Sandra Stamper, who were then welcomed into senior membership. Mrs. Wade Mishler conducted installation of officers. Mr. Cormican is a 1968 graduate of North Webster high school and is employed by Cambridge Homes, Syracuse.
