Thomson Site Appraised At $l7O Per Acre The controversial Thomson site, originally purchased by the Whitko school corporation for the proposed new Whitko high school, has been re-appraised at $25,000 for the 150-acre tract, or at $l7O per acre. The Whitko school board paid a total of $45,000 for the land originally. About two months ago it was appraised at $43,500 but there were no bidders at this price. \ The two new appraisers for the re-evaluation of the tract, Henry Auker of South Whitley and Don Robinson of the Lake City Bank in Warsaw, were appointed at the special board meeting on June 23, according to superintendent Frank Kniglft. Traveling With Children Motor trips with infants and children require just a few extra precautions to assure a safe and comfortable journey. If possible, limit your travel to only 200 or 300 miles a day, and choose stopover* points with facilities for recreation and infant care. Stock your car with a sufficient supply of disposable diapers and sealed jars of baby food. Make certain milk is pasteurized and water is pure. Also, see to it that your children’s immunization shots (tetanus, polio and whooping cough) are up to date.

the board, William O. V. Helfrich; secretary, Eldred Metzger; and board members Byron McCammon and Robert Steller and the superintendent Frank Knight. The judge disqualified himself as he said he had read the? Columbia City newspapers, discussed the problem in public and was a personal friend of both the plaintiff and the defendant. Judge Meyers wrote due to moral, personal and ethical reasons he was impelled to disqualify himself and instead he proposed three names of other judges. They are: Judge John Beauchamp of Wabash; Ray Ade of Huntington; and Judge Jack Dunten of LaGrange county. A name was to be picked' for this by press time but was not available. The superintendent said he was given a copy of the injunction by the sheriff of Whitley county, the past week. The sheriff offered to read the copy to him but the superintendent told him he would read it himself. SUPPORT RED CROSS help! us help!
