OBITUARIES
Arthur Loveless Arthur Loveless, 74, Ligonier, retired principal and teacher for many years in the Cromwell school, died June 23 in Whitley County hospital of cancer. Mr. Loveless was born August 9, 1894, in Pike county, the son of Emos and Mahla (Johnson) Loveless. On August 23, 1921, he was married to • Marie Wilson at Petersburg and she survives. Other survivors are two sons, John R. Loveless, Cromwell, and Jack Loveless, Leonti, N. J.; one daughter, Miss Barbara Loveless, Albuquerque, N. M.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Baldwin and Mrs. Nora Baldwin, -both of Petersburg. Mr. Loveless was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Calvary Lutheran church, Cromwell American Legion, Lions club and Masonic lodge. ■Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Calvary Lutheran church. Rev. Lewis C. Westenbarger will officiate and burial will be in Sparta cemetery at Kimmell. Friends may call at the Ulrey funeral home in Cromwell after 2 o’clock today (Wednesday)., Memorial contributions may be made to the cancer fund of Calvary Lutheran church. , Clarence A. Warstler Clarence A. Warstler, 71, of Goshen, died in the Goshen hospital Friday, June 20. He had been a patient since June 15. Mr. Warstler was born at Goshen November 16, 1897, to Charles Edward and Nancy (Holtzinger) Warstler. He was a resident

of Goshen all his life. He married Josie Albright at New Paris in 1921, and she died in February, 1955. Mr. Warstler had worked at the Studebaker Corporation and retired in 1962. In recent years he worked as a yardman for several Goshen families. He was a member of the West Goshen Church of the Brethren. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Nelson (Lucille) Piper and Mrs. Phillip (Esther) Mishler, both of Goshen; two sons, Ralph, South Bend, and Frank, Seattle, Wash.; three brothers, Gordon, Laßorte, Ezra, Syracuse, and Alvin, Goshen; four sisters, Miss Anna Warstler, Elgin, 111., Mrs. George (Lois) Brandeberry, Shipshewana, Miss Martha Warstler, Wabash, and Mrs. May Ober, Goshen; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were held Monday at Goshen. Rev. George W. Phillips officiated and burial was in the West Goshen ‘cemetery. Milford C. Gose Milford C. Gose, 60, r 1 Ligonier, an employe of Curto Ligonier Foundry, died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at his home in a heart attack Mr. Gose was bom in Ohio, April 15, 1909, but had resided in the Ligonier area most of his life. He married the former Daisy Lewallen at North Webster in 1932 and she survises. Also surviving are two sons, Frederick serving with the armed forces in Germany and Terry,. Ligonier; a daughter, Mary, Ligonier; three grandchildren; his
mother, Mrs. Anna Gose, Ligonier; three brothers, Ralph and William, Lake Wawesee, and Bulger, Peru; two sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Claudine) Stone and Mrs. Harold (Ethel) Hostettler, both of Syracuse. Services were held Saturday at Ligonier. Rev. Marple Lawson officiated and burial was in the North Webster cemetery. Mrs. Frank Wiles Mrs. Frank (Geneva) Wiles, 73, 131 east Boston street, Syracuse, died Friday in the Goshen hospital of complications following a heart attack. Mrs. Wiles was born at Rochester May 13, 1896, to Henry and Louise (Yoder) Hayes. She had lived on the Cable Line road near Goshen before moving to Syracuse 20 years ago. She married Mr. Wiles at Goshen in 1939. She was retired from the Goshen Rubber Company and was a member of Woods of the World church. Surviving with the husband are three daughters, Mrs. Cyrus (Dorothy) Wade, Paw Paw, Mich., Mrs. B. F. (Doris) Paine, Goshen, and Mrs. Helen Bessemer, Elkhart; a son, Keith Dawson, Long Beach, Calif.; and six grandchildren. Services were held Sunday at Syracuse. Rev. Chester Bahn officiated and burial was in the Syracuse cemetery. Mrs. Edward Stocker Mrs. Edward (Cora E.) Stocker, 89, Fort Wayne, died last Wednesday in Saint Joseph hospital at Fort Wayne. She had been in failing health for two years. Mrs. Stocker was born in Koscuisko county July 16, 1879, to Christopher and Elizabeth (Mumma) Koher. She had lived in Fort Wayne for the past 21 years, moving from Cromwell. She was married to Mr. Stocker December 15, 1900. He died in 1962. Mrs. Stocker was a member of the Indian Village United Brethren church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Phyllis) Klopfenstein, Albion, Mrs. Lucille Klopfenstein and Mrs. Robert (Iris). Guy, both of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Walter Koher, Syracuse and John Koher, Cromwell; four sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Mabel) Hines, South Whitley, Mrs. James (Eva) Mock, North Webster, Mrs. Pearl Mock, Syracuse, and Mrs. John (Claudine) Gatwood, North Webster; 14 grandchildren; 29 great - grandchildren and one great - great - grandchild. Funeral services were held Saturday at North Webster. Rev. Chester Reed officiated and burial was in the North Webster cemetery. Busy Day, June 7 For George Wood June 7th and Bth turned out to be very busy days for George Wood of near North Webster. The eighth was his twenty-third birthday, but this was not all. He received his commission at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Loeb theater in West Lafayette in the ROTC program and graduated, getting his pharmacy master’s degree in the Music Hall at Purdue university, Sunday. He was named as one of those graduating with distinction. His commission was the largest group, (army) numbering 57, ever held. Earlier in the. week, June 4, Wood was married (see elsewhere in this same issue) and Mrs. Wood attended the commissioning and the graduation exercises. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wood, and his sister Lynn, and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hamman of North Webster attended also. The newlyweds are at home at the Pine Bay Mobile Home Court. Wood is employed by the Thornburg Drug company at Syracuse and North Webster. HAS HEART SURGERY Mrs. Verl Lindzy of r 3 Syracuse is convalescing at her home following heart surgery recently at Robert Long hospital in Indianapolis. She is reported to be getting along nicely. Early cotton growers threw the valuable cottonseed away after the cotton was ginned.

Punch neat pattern of holes around, can in area below line. Use hail punch, dut around can, along penciled line. Use rip can opener. Paint with enamel or lacqder. Insert vigil candle that comes set in small, colored glass. J. O c Lite Or Holder—(Fig. 2) This can serve either purpose. It all depends on sijze of candle. Draw line with grease pencil around can, 1 in. from top. At different heights below line, punch several holes as shown, about 1(4 in. apart. Cut around can, along penciled line, using rip can opener. With shears, cut from top down to each hole. Between each of these cuts, now make two one-inch cuts. Using pliers curl each strip around and under as shown. Paint.

Hibschman of Syracuse attended the wedding Saturday, June 21, of her grandson, Michael Wayne Jensen, and Roberta Ann, daughter of Mr. and 'Mrs. Norbert Staniszewski, at the Church of the Resurrection in Pittsburgh, Pa. Also attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs Donald Lower and Connie of Toledo, Ohio. Michael is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jensen of Garrett. MILFORD LOCALS Mr. and Mrs. Donn Kesler and daughters will move into newly acquired home south of Milford this week end. Former owner, Mrs. Noble Neff, is now residing at Winona Lake. Mrs. Jack McCormack and children traveled by train last week to Harper, Kans., where they spent the week with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wiley, Mrs. McCormack’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Shayne Ryan and son Barry of Mishawaka were Saturday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Kline of Milford. Mrs. Ryan and Mrs. Kline attended Goshen college together. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brooks and Robbie, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Kline, and Mrs. Ollie Schlotterback, Milford, attended a family celebration Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reed of Kimmell.
