UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ACTIVITIES Lydia circle met Tuesday afternoon at the United Methodist church with Mrs. LQcy Fribley in charge. The lesson was given by Mrs. Floyd Himebaugh on “Refugees, The Invisible Millions”. She showed pictures and told of the millions of refugees in the Middle East. Africa, and South America. The churches and the UN are helping these people by supporting camps for them. Mrs. Catherine Coy «and Mrs. Reynolds served jello, crackers, tea and coffee to 19 present.

The Mary circle met Thursday at the church fellowship room for their April meeting. Business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Phil Payne. The lesson was by Mi;s. Robert Roose. She talked about the board of missions, families and read an original essay, “Turning Twenty One”. The general meeting was announced for Tuesday night with an Indian minister as the guest speaker. All were urged to he present for this. Mrs. Bud Lantz and Mrs. Cecil Paulus served coffeecake, tea and coffee to members. Mrs. Nelson Hunt will give a book review at the May meeting.

HEX GRANGE IN APRIL MEETING Th? Hex Grange met Wednesday night for its regular meeting. The charter was draped during a manorial service for Theodore Vorhis. The program in charge of the Women’s Activities committee consisted of an Easter egg tree. In each egg members found a paper directing them to a special activity. Bonnie Bushong sang "The Old Rugged Cross” accompanied by Mildred Savage. An Easter egg hunt was held in the basement for the children. Mrs. Merle Darr, Nfrs. Zerola Zook and Mrs. Peter Savage won first, second and third prizes respectively in the Christmas centerpiece contest, the first two of which will enter the Pomona Grange contest. There were 10 entries in all. There were 34 present including 13 officers. The ladies will entertain the men at the next meeting.
