Half Os Students Too Advanced New Haven, Conn. — About half of U.S. school children are a grade or more ahead of where they should be to do their best work, recent studies show. They were made by the Gesell Institute of Child Development here. The institute recommends that a child’s readiness to enter school be determined by testing his maturity, or behavior age, rather than by the IQ-plus-chron-ological age standard now in use. Learning is a change in behavior.

91 In Block W
There are a total of 91 WHS girls in the school’s Block W. They have contributed much to the school spirit at basketball games and have worked under the handicap of not having a place to practice with the cheerleaders. Since the completion of the new gym the students have been more enthusiastic about the games and being students at WHS. Block W members wear gold V-neck sweaters and long sleeved white blouses at all home games.
