Plans Complete For Choral, Orchestra Concert March 1
Members of the choral and orchestra groups of Wawasee high school will present a concert on Tuesday evening, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The cadet choir and concert choir under the direction of Varner M. Chance have prepared a program of music which includes selections from the classical, light musicals and contemporary. Members of the high school string grcup and selected students from Milford, North Webster and Syracuse schools will accompany the combined choirs in the Gloria in Excelsis from the Twelfth Mass by Mozart. As a special feature on the program, the new concert grand piano will be presented as an accompanying instrument as well as a solo instrument. Miss Gloria Rapp, a recent contest winner in Fort Wayne and one who represented Wawasee high school at the state music contest, will be the piano soloist. Proceeds will be applied to the payment of music uniforms. IVY HENCHMEN TO PLAY AT DANCE FRIDAY Members of the Ivy Henchmen will play at a dance in the Milford fire station on Friday, Feb. 28. The dance will be held between the hours of 8 and 11 p.m. SYRACUSE LOCALS Mrs. Earl Treadway, Syracuse, spent last Wednesday afternoon in the Goshen hospital visiting her brother, John Stetler, and other Syracuse patients there. Mrs. Thomas Gilbert and daughters and Mrs. Georgia Buster, Syracuse, were at Bristol on Sunday afternoon and called on the Richard Haberstich family at Goshen.
Dance On March 1 By Delta Theta Tau A dance called the Sectional Sound Session will be held between 4 and 6 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at the junior high gymnasium in Warsaw (Main street). This will be sponsored by the Delta Theta Tau sorority of which Mrs. Cecil (Pat) Latta is president. Mrs. Douglas Clem is chairman of the event. The proceeds will be used by the sorority towards dental work for underprivileged children in the county and in contributions to the Cardinal Learning Center. Tomorrow Homemakers 4-H Club Meets The Tomorrow Homemakers 4H club met February 24 in the junior high school cafeteria. Beverly Welty called the meeting to order. Denise Darr and Carol Green 0 led the pledges. Mrs. Clymer showed a film on milk. Demonstrations were given by Norma Bahn on how to make salad dressing, by Denise Darr, how to make punch, by Marjorie Trammel, how to make hot chocolate and by Beverly Welty on how to make a flower decoration. The craft workshop will be March 15. Connie and Elaine Hoopingarner and Norma Bahn served refreshments. Milford Locals Mrs. Delbert Poe and Mrs. Ernest Krauter of Milford called on friends at Greencroft Central Manor in Goshen Saturday evening. One of them was Miss Martha Groves of Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Haab were hosts at a waffle supper Sunday at their home on r 5 Goshen. Their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weisser and Miss Carol Weisser, Milford; Mr. and Mrs. Steven Kaiser, Milford lake; and Miss Edna Lehman, Warsaw.

Meet The Wawasee Seniors
LINDA LOU BUSHONG Linda Lou Bushong is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bushong of r 2 Syracuse. She will graduate this spring with majors in English, home ec, social studies and business and a miner in physical education. Home ec and physical education are her favorite subjects. As a senior Lynn is a member of the GAA, FHA, cheerblock, gymnastics team and has been a member of the chorus for three years. She also belongs to the Grange, boys’ and girls’ 4-H clubs, Luthur League and junior leaders. Lynn has won a 4-H girls’ achievement award and the 4-H key club award plus being run-ner-up in the coat division at the dress revue. After graduation she plans to attend business school. The youngest of four children, Lynn has a sister, Mrs. Gordon (Lucille) Groves of r 1 Middlebury; and two brothers, Samuel Jr., of r 3 Syracuse and Bill who is living at home. Last summer Lynn was a waitress at Foo and Faye’s. “An American Tragedy” and “The Human Comedy” are her favorite books and sewing and meeting people are her hobbies. —WHS—GARY MICHAEL BROWN Gary Michael Brown will graduate in the spring with majors in social studies, English, science and math and a minor in foreign language. History and government are his favorite subjects. Gary is the son of William R. Brown of r 1 Warsaw. He is a member of FTA, drama - debate club, national honor society, was president of the junior class at North Webster last year and was a two-year student council member. He is a member of the Morris Chapel United Methodist church, the MYF and Youth for Christ. He lias received English awards. A future teacher, he plans to attend Huntington college. Garv has a sister, Susan, who is a freshman at Wawasee and a sister. Carolyn, who is in the fourth grade at North Webster. In the summer he works at the North Webster Lumber Company. His favorite sports are watching basketball, pool, ping - pong and bowling. His favorite book is the Bible. Reading, politics and writing are his hobbies.

WANETTA FAY PLETCHER Wanetta Fay Pletcher lists home economics as her favorite subject. She will graduate with majors in English and home ec and minors in business and Spanish. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pletcher of r 2 Syracuse. Wanetta is a member of her church youth group and plans to join the Peace Corps after graduation. She has one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Nancy) Allen who is a nurse in Bloomington and two brothers, David of Fort Wayne and Kenneth of Syracuse. Bowling is her favorite sport, “Huckleberry Finn” is her favorite book and sewing and collecting coupons are her hobbies —WHS—VIRGINIA NELL BILLER Virginia Nell Biller is a member of GAA, FHA and the band. She also belongs to the Island Chapel United Methodist church. Nell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Royce Biller of r 2 Milford and is undecided about her future. She will graduate with English and home ec majors and business, Spanish and social studies minors. Social studies and home ec are her favorites. She has one brother Steve who resides in Warsaw and one sister, Mrs. Michael (Carolyn) Zimmerman, Jr., of Milford. Last summer Nell worked at Camp Mack. Basketball and football are her favorite sports, “Gone With the Wind” and “A Farewell to Arms” are her favorite books while knitting and crocheting and playing the piano are her favorite hobbies. —WHS—MICHAEL DEAN BROWER Michael Dean Brower is president of the art club, a member of the lettermen’s club, the track team and the senior executive council. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Brower of North Webster. Mike will graduate with majors in art, math, social studies and English and minors in science and Spanish. Art ih his favorite subject. The Fort Wayne art institute is in the future for Mike. He has a younger sister, Susie, who is a sophomore at Wawasee. Basketball is his favorite sport and sketching and drawing are his hobbies. The population of Rhode Island is 904.3 thousand.
32 Participate in Milford Science Fair Saturday A total of 32 students from grades four through seven participated in the Milford schools science fair Saturday. Twelve of those students received awards. Fourth grade winners were Jeff Auer and Craig McCormick, first place; Jeff Hoerr, second; Diane Perry, third. Fifth grade winners were Steve Tucker, first; Ann Kaiser, second; Ronn Beer, third: John Gardner, fourth; Pam Sands, fifth. Sixth grade winners were Sandy Gerencser, first: Kathy Steffen. second; Roxanna Auer, third. Seventh grade winner was Jeff Housouer who received a second place rating. PYTHIAN SISTERS MEET FEBRUARY 24 The regular meeting of the North Webster Pythian Sisters was held at the K. P. Hall on February 24. Most excellent chief Mrs. Verland Bockman named Mrs. Wilbur Rensberger of Milford as temple mother. Mrs. Russel Moore announced the Past Chief club would meet at her home on March 12. Mrs. Lewis Corder and Mrs. Donald Kreis served refreshments in keeping with George Washington’s birthday during the social hour which followed the meeting. The less work some laborers perform the more pay they expect.

Lakeland Youth News By Tom Kitch There will be no dance at the Youth Center this Friday night. The next dance at the center will be Friday, March 7, with the Glass Echo providing the , music from 8 to 11 p.m. Beef Cattle Feeders To Meet Tuesday Evening A meeting of beef cattle feeders will be held on Tuesday evening, March 4, at the Shrine building, fairgrounds, Warsaw, to review beef cattle feeding systems. The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. John Foley and John Mentzer, extension agriculture engineers from Purdue, will discuss the different methods and show pictures of successful feed lots in the state. They will discuss lay-out of feed * lots, building, lot drainage, silage storage and equipment, types of silos, mechanization and maintenance. All cattlemen of the county are invited to attend. VISIT NEW YORK CITY Mrs. C. J. Menzie and Mrs. Eugene Whitacre of North Webster and Leesburg, respectively, are the house guests of Miss Leora Warble of New York City. The trip was made by train leaving from Warsaw Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Menzie and Mrs. Whitacre are expected home tomorrow. Miss Warble is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Warble of r 1 Pierceton (Wilmot). She is a physical education .instructor and sociology teacher in the Long Island high school.
