WORK vOhiTihiUES — Workmen are shown above as they install bleachers on the floor of Wawasee high school’s new gym. The bleacher installation is the only work still holding up use of the building.
To Be In Gym By January 31?
Members of the Lakeland school board questioned clerk of the work Bart Wade last evening on the completion date for the high school gym. Mr. Wade was unable to give a definite date but stated it could be done in two weeks and is confident that enough bleachers will be installed to house persons attending the WawaseePierceton basketball game on January 31. However, this will depend upon the number of men who will be working on the bleacher installation in the next several days. In his report to the board Wade stated the bleachers on the gym floor should ba completed by Thursday. The hold up is the balcony where they are waiting for bleachers to arrive. He received a promise that some of those bleachers would arrive at the school today (Wednesday) with the remainder arriving on Friday. The workers in the educational wing of the building are caught up with only cabinets and lockers to be installed. The floor in the auditorium is finished and the seats will be set Thursday. If the weather holds the roofers should complete their work on the swimming pool this week. Other work is progressing there. Mr. Wade’s report came after the board had read and approved its minutes, financial report, claims and extra curricular fund reports and had heard a summary of principals reports. The only objection was to the claims when member C. W. Kroh objected beMathews 532, D. Hockert 530, D. Wolterman 527, L. Slabaugh 523. D. Campbell 521. D. Dowty 517, D. Wuthrich 510, D.
