AWARDS PRESENTED — Millie Engle, above left, is congratulating Junior Goon, Due/ Dye and Jim Hiereman who had just received the trephies for the best decorations in the recent Christmas contest at Leesburg. The awards were presented by Mrs. Engle who is president cf the Leesburg Merchants Association at the town on Monday. Mr. Goon won his award for simplicity, Mr. Dye for best lighting and Mr. Hiereman accepted the award for the best nativity on behalf of the Peoples State Bank.

Annexation Discussed At Board Meeting AU town board members and town clerk were present Monday night at a meeting at the town hall. Also present were Hugh McCann and town attorney Stan Peqirignot. Annexation of a subdivision west of state road 15 was discussed with the town attorney and an annexation ordinance is to be drawn up. A part time marshall was discussed and was taken under consideration. Hugh McCann will remain for the time being. Glen Huffman may be able to remove the snow from the streets and an arrangement is to be made to store the equipment in the old fire station. A liquor license procedure was discussed with the town attorney and he stated that an ordinance would not be a legal document for such a procedure. AH bills were allowed for payment and the meeting adjourned. MYF Holds Retreat Members of the United Methodist Youth FeHowship held a retreat at the Barbara Keck Lodge at Epworth Forest from, Monday afternoon until after breakfast Wednesday. On Monday night Mr. and Mrs. James Hearn and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Groce of Texas were present. The Groces showed slides of their work done in Africa. where Mr. Groce is an agricultural missionary. The Groces expect to return to Africa in a year. Tuesday morning Rev. David Gosser held classes and the afternoon was spent in sledding and ice

Merchants Meet Monday Afternoon There were 5 members present at a meeting of the Leesburg Merchants held Monday afternoon at the town hall. Pictures were taken of Dewey Dye, Junior Goon and James Heierman who represented the Peoples State Bank which were the winners in the Christmas decoration contest. Bills were presented to the treasurer for payment. A thank you letter was received from Hugh McCann thanking the merchants for their part in holding the din-

ner in his honor and for his gift. A time was discussed for taking down the Christmas decorations. A historical fund is being started for the purpose of renting or buying a building for the storing of the antiques which have been given to the town. ENTERTAINS AT A LUNCHEON Mrs. Carl Richey entertained at a luncheon Monday for Mrs. Ethel McCoy, Mrs. William Johnson, Mrs. Tom Buskirk and Miss Lena Winters. — L — Reception Held Sunday Evening At Calvary Baptist Church Following the Sunday evening worship service at the Oswego Calvary Baptist church a reception was held in the basement in honor of their new minister, Rev. Lee Kantenwein and his family. They reside in Warsaw. Coffee, punch and cup cakes were served.
