I au Ifcr n,,, Town Milford, Ind.

By JERI SEELY Received an interesting letter from Elmer G. Sulzer at Indiana university. I He recently authored a book entitled “Ghost Railroads of Kentucky”. Currently he is working on a similar volume covering the abandoned steam railroads of Indiana. He is anxious to locate pictures dealing with Syracuse and Milford. The railroad that ran from Syracuse to the marl deposits at Waubee lake is of special interest to him. ° Anyone who has photos or any other details they can supply on this short line that they would like to share with the professor may get in touch with me and I’ll give you the professor’s address. mm# For the art lovers in Our Town I’ll pass on a bit of information that came my way last week. The first annual mid-winter faculty show will open with a reception on Sunday, Dec. 29, at the Bremen art center. It will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. The show will run through January 12 with the gallery being open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5. mm# Think it will snow? • For you folks in Florida who are always asking about the weather here in Hoosierland, winter officially arrived on Saturday and so did the snow. We’ll not be worrying about a white Christmas as the ground is fully covered for today’s festivities. To many, this writer included, Christmas just isn’t Christmas without snow. It goes along with the church services, , candles, Christmas trees and Santa Claus. m m m The flu bug seems to be making the rounds of Our Town. Hope it hasn’t spoiled Christmas in too many homes. It sure is a funny thing and goes anywhere, anytime. The men on Apollo 8 have even had to put up with it. Milford Locals Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wuthrich and family of near Milford are spending Christmas day with Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Mullett and family at North Webster. Mrs. Robert Sprague of New Paris, sister of Mrs. Fred Wuthrich of Milford; is spending the holidays touring the southern states with her husband and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vestel of Granger.
