Warriors Lose To Warsaw Tigers, 44-76
By Ric Clingaman The mighty Warriors of Wawasee suffered defeat last Friday night as the Tigers of Warsaw mauled over them by 30 points in a 76-44 game. The Warriors started it off rather well as Steve Zurcher added the first six points and put the Warriors ahead by one, 5-4. This was the last time the Warriors held the lead as they were outmaneurvered by the Tigers. Height was the main factor of the game as Warsaw had two six foot, six inch boys, to the Warriors senior Bill Pipp who is six foot, three inches. Wawasee just couldn’t keep up with the Tigers fast break and rebounds. Sieve Zurcher led the Warriors with 18 points. He was the lone Warrior in double figures. The Warriors will face another conference game Friday, Dec. 20. against Manchester at Manchester, then will be on their home court Saturday night as they meet Huntington Catholic in the Syracuse junior high school gym.
