On Friday night the junior class department went to North Manchester for a swimming party. A new carpet was laid in th? entrance way of the church last week, also new lights were installed in the chapel. On Saturday evening Carol Lucille Kyler. infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kyler, was baptized. Mrs. Ronald Boyer of North Webster was baptized on Sunday morning in the church. The WSCS of Morris chapel have invited the North Webster United Methodist church to attend family night services on December 4. It is to be a carry-in dinner at 6:30. Mrs. Juanita Simpson, a missionary from Palau Islands, in the South Pacific will show color slides of her work. —NWChristian Church To Have Program The North Webster Christian church will have a program of sacred music on Sunday night, Dec. 8, from 7 to 8. Mr. and Mrs. William R. Felts are in charge of the program. Mr. Felts ‘is an accomplished musician. The reason for the program is to show the public the progress that is being made in the church. Refreshments will be served following the services.
Adult Sunday School Class Meets The adult Sunday school class of the United Methodist church met on Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse LeCount. Mrs. H. H. Redding was co-hostess. Mrs. Marie Hom had charge of the business meeting. R?v. Lee Sharp gave ths devotions. Refreshments of jello salad, crackers, tea and coffee were served by Mrs. LeCount. —NW—COMMUNITY NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Keith Mohr and children, Greg and Shelly of Findley, Ohio, spent Thanksgiving with Rev. and Mrs. Lewis Thomas. On Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. Roger Core and children, Charles. Jeanne, Craig and Cindy, came and visited on Sunday. Mrs. Mohr and Mrs. Core are the daughters of Rev. and Mrs. Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Payne had 20 guests for Thanksgiving day. The guests were from Anderson. Middletown and North Webster. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kuhn entertained on Thanksgiving day. Guests included Mayme Wilson of Cromwell, Jennie Streby, Harold and Marie Smith of North Webster, Bruce Grindle, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Grindle and son Steve of Syracuse, Mr. and Mrs. David Kuhn and son David of North Webster and Mrs. Cora Kuhn of Syracuse. Supper guests also included Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kissinger and children of Sechrist Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lawrence of North Webster spent the Thanksgiving holidays in Fort Wayne visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Murphy and son. Orva Mill°r was discharged from the Goshen hospital on Thanksgiving day. He is very much improved after suffering from a heart attack and spending four weeks in the hospital. Mrs. Lewis Streby of r 1 Pierceton is some better after being seriously ill for more than a week. Miss Golden Kuhn and her brother J. R. spent the week end in Cromwell with Mrs. Anna Kistler and her two grandchildren. William Brandenburg is home recovering from surgery performed two weeks ago in Goshen hospital. Mrs. Nellie Bennett left by plane on Friday for Oija, Calif., where she will visit Mrs. Maurice Holt: Mrs. Charles Ramsey is still a patient in Parkview hospital. Jan Barnette underwent a tonsilectomy in Whitley County hospital recently. Robin Garr is in Whitley County hospital with pneumonia. Mrs. Nancy Corbin was released from Whitley County hospital.

Burr Wagoner returned to Parkview hospital in Fort Wayne and underwent surgery last Friday. The surgery on his arm was more serious than anticipated. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Overmyer returned recently from a hunting trip in Alva, Wyo. Ollie Hardin and Duane Leedy were there to hunt with them. They all stayed at Giochino ranch, 20 miles from a town and had some trouble being stuck in the mud. Each came home with a deer. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hamman, Sr., left Sunday for Florida where they will spend the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Hunt returned on Tuesday from visiting members of their family., They were at th°ir son-in-law and daughters. Rev. and Mrs. Howard Spitnale. Zanesville. Ohio: th'ir grandsons, the Nelson Spitnales at Columbus, Ohio: and visited their son. Chaplain Major Mansfield E. Hunt, and family on Scott air force base in Illinois. They were with another son. John Hunt, in Indianapolis. Lura Himes will leave on Friday for Phoenix, Ariz., to visit her sister, Mrs. Lloyd Miller and husband. She will be with her niece and family, the Dan Kutachs for a time. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller and family from Sacramento, Calif., will take Mrs. Himes to their home after Christmas. Mrs. Miller is the daughter of Mrs. Himes. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Guittar of Troy, Ohio, were guests Friday through Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Dick. Glen Shear and family called on his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shear Sunday. Kelsey and Russell Dalesandro of Milford were arrested at Syracuse over the week end for illegal possession. Steven P. Angel, North Webster, was arrested last week end for a violation on beginners permit. Mr. and Mrs. James Butt, Syracuse, attended the Indiana Monumental convention on Monday and Tuesday of last week at Indianapolis. Mr. Butt had on display a line of cemetery vases and planters. Missionary To Speak At Morris Chapel
Mrs. Juanita Simpson, missionary to Micronesia, will be the speaker at 7:30 tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Morris Chapel United Methodist church. The congregation is holding the annual family night carryin supper at 6:30 following which Mrs. Simpson will present the program. She will be showing slides of the Palau Islands where she spent the past six years as a missionary under the Liebenzell Mission of U.S.A., Inc., an interboard with work in the Far East. Mrs. Simpson has continued in the work at the girls’ school in the islands since the death of her husband in 1967. Friends and neighbors of Morris Chapel church are cordially invited to attend this service to hear Mrs. Simpson tell of her work and personal experiences. Manchester Named Site For Airport The Federal Aviation Administration announced Saturday that North Manchester is one of 18 communities with proposed sites for airports in the next five years. The airport will be built with 50-50 matching funds from the Federal government but the administration also stated that matching funds were limited and the cost of the 18 Indiana airports would be approximately $37 million and that federal funds expected to be available for next year for the nation is only S3O million. Practical Nurses’ Capping Exercises Thirty-three students satisfactorily completing the first phase of practical nursing course at Ivy Tech will be capped December 6 at 7:30 p.m. CST. The colorful services will be held in the River Park United Methodist church at 920 S. 23d street, South Bend. Mrs. Pearl Myers, LPN of Bremen, will preside and Mrs. Robert Fenstermacher, Walkerton, will be the speaker for the evening. The students, after capping, are ready for the more advanced portion of the course. The training offers both classroom study and clinical practice. Classroom instruction cover nursing concepts, principles, and related subjects such as anatomy, physiology, medicalsurgical nursing, nutrition, and community health. This work is supplemented by laboratory practice and by supervised work in hospitals; where students apply their skills to actual nursing situations. Among those being capped are Miss Allene Kilmer and Mrs. OUI2 Schlotterback of Milford.
