Mrs. Don Tamer Hosts Tippy Lee Club Mrs. Don Tamer was hostess to members of the Tippy Lee club on Wednesday night. Mrs. Norman Archer was cc-hostess. Meditations were given by Mrs. Max Shively and Mrs. Richard Allen led in the song, “Prayer of Thanksgiving*'. Health and safety remarks were given by Mrs. Max Faurote. Roll call was answered by telling “What we want for Christmas”. The lesson on “Ideas” from the Christmas workshop was given by Mrs. Raymond Hartman and Mrs. Palmer Hasty. Every one told of ideas for gifts, wrapping or decorations for Christmas. Hostess prizes were won by Mrs. G. W. Murphy and Mrs. Hal Strong. Pumpkin pie, coffee, and nuts were served. The next meeting will be the Christmas dinner at the home of Mrs. James Hearn. Entertain At PreThanksgiving Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dye entertained Sunday at a pre-Thanks-giving dinner for Mr. and Mrs. John Dye of South Bend, Mrs. Charles Robert Dye of Warsaw, Mrs. Bernice Watkins and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Dye. Mrs. Paul Beebe of Pierceton and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Coyle of Warsaw were afternoon and supper guests, Pvt. Robert Dye, who is stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., called and all were able to talk to him. November Meeting Os Eight Square Club Mrs. Fred Stookey was hostess to members of the Eight Square club Tuesday night. Mrs. William Wildman was the assistant hostess. Mrs. Melvin Gunter gave meditations, reading a poem about Thanksgiving. She also led in singing the song, “Prayer of Thanksgiving”. Mrs. James Hite presented the lesson on manners. Mrs. Rex Sausaman told of how to get rose bushes ready for winter fcr the garden hints. Health and safety remarks were given by Mrs. George Armbruster on keeping medicine away from children and also other poisons. Each one responded to roll call by giving a Bible verse. Refreshments of pumpkin pie and coffee were served. Sisterhood Meets At Brethren Church Gail Wagner served as leader at a meeting of the Juniors and Little Sisters at a meeting Wednesday night held at the Brethren church. Marcia Alexander gave the Bible study and Kathy Stauffer the mission study. Plans were made for a Christmas caroling party to be held December 23. Re-

In Car Accident At Columbia City Mr. and Mrs. Devon Smith of Warsaw, formerly of Leesburg, were involved in an automobile accident Saturday afternoon at Columbia City. They were en route to Fort Wayne when struck by a car traveling on state road 9 which did net stop at the intersection. Mr. Smith suffered a broken rib and Mrs. Smith suffered pulled muscles and was badly shaken up. One side of their car was badly damaged. American Legion Auxiliary Meets At Warsaw Home Members of the American Legion Auxiliary met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. John Lursen in Warsaw. Following the business meeting a social hour was enjoyed by ten members. The hostess served refreshments. The next meeting will be a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Chris Kammerer. CELEBRATE BIRTHDAY Mrs. Devon Lippincott, Mrs. Ralph Groves and Jerry Lynn, Mrs. Jerry Bray and Mrs. Frank Rink, all of Milford, and Mrs. Jo Yocum attended the ice follies at Fort Wayne Friday night in honor of the birthday of Mrs. Lippincott. MARK ARCHER CELEBRATES Mrs. Norman Archer entertained after school at a party in honor of the seventh birthday of her son, Mark. Games were played and ice cream and cake were served to eight friends from the first grade. Called Meeting Os Eastern Star A called meeting of chapter 287 of the Order of Eastern Star was held Wednesday night with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Felton in charge. An initiation service was held for Mrs. Clara Metzger and Mrs. Jack Hetler. Following the meeting refreshments of pumpkin pie with whipped cream and coffee were served in the dining hall by Mrs. Thelma McCorkle and Mrs. Charles Richards. Tri Arts Club In Monday Meeting The Tri-Arts club met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Lewis Noel with Mrs. Glen Deeter as assistant hostess. Mrs. Albert Kammerer gave the devotions and roll call was answered by giving a Thanksgiving recipe. Mrs. Morris Huffman presented the program telling how to start
a drive-in business. She told how to obtain a franchise and purchasing the equipment and how expensive it is and of the competition they now have. The roving prize was won by Mrs. Howard Smith. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Three Arts At Schwinnen Home The Three Arts club met Monday evening with Mrs. Paul Schwinnen as hostess. Mrs. Mannis Miller presided at the business meeting. Roll call was answered by telling “What we are doing on Thanksgiving”. Devotions were given by Mrs. Schwinnen. Articles were shown and sorted that had been collected for three families who have illness in the home. Plans were discussed for the Christmas project which is to remember the ill and elderly who would otherwise be forgotten. The mystery prize was won by Mrs. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Tom and Peggy Jo were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Vassie Tom and Mary Catherine of Larwill. They all attended the Ice Follies in Fort Wayne in the afternoon. Lori and Jeff Sands of Munster are spending from last Thursday evening until Thanksgiving with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Deeter. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Timmons and family spent Sunday in Goshen visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Copenhaven, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Young and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Stutzman. Mr. and Mrs. Roger McConnell entertained at supper Thursday night for Mrs. Dorothy Blackburn and Mrs. Jim McConnell and Christine. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Lyons spent Sunday at Sharpsville where they were called by the death of Dr. Luther Roler, a cousin of Mrs. Lyons. Mrs. Earl Stookey of South Bend, who is well known in this vicinity, was admitted to the St. Joe hospital in South Bend Sunday. Ernest Beery of Sterling, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Beery and family of Seamen, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Immel, Kirk and Lisa will spend Thanksgiving in Columbus, Ohio, with Mr. and Mrs. David Canady. Miss Beulah Kehr visited relatives in Syracuse Sunday. She was a guest of Mrs. Catherine Babcock and of her daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Dausman have gone to Florida for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Dausman and family have moved into the Vern Dausman home to reside with Miss Lois Dausman. Max Barrett is a patient at the Veterans hospital in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Maxine Robinson and Joan and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Randall spent Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. James Randall, Eric, Hunter and Shanna. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Sorensen and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rumfelt of Milford attended a tupperware rally at the YMCA at Peru on Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rumfelt and son Donal, and Mr. and Mrs. Dane Rumfelt, all of Milford, attended church Sunday at the First United Methodist church, Goshen, where Dennis Rumfelt served as organist. Later they enjoyed dinner at a Mishawaka restaurant and spent the afternoon and evening at the apartment of their son, Dennis, of Goshen. Ren Clark of Milford, will spend Wednesday and Thursday with her parents and family in Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Burel Martz of Nappanee and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Felkner called at a funeral home in Columbia City Wednesday afternoon to pay their respects to Mrs. Frances McKibbin, wife of Austin (Jack) McKibbin. Mr. McKibbin lived around Hastings as a boy. Mrs. Cornelia Poe and Mrs. Felkner also attended the burial at Leesburg Thursday afternoon. Guests at dinner Sunday evening in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Felkner were Mrs. Cornelia Poe and Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Zentz of Nappanee. They enjoyed a turkey dinner. The occasion was the 47th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Zentz which occurred on November 20.
