REMEMBER . . . WHEN IT HAPPENED IN SYRACUSE ONE YEAR AGO Schools opened this morning in the Lakeland area with 2,597 students enrolled. Ralph G. McFadden, Democratic candidate for Congress from Indiana's second district, was in Syracuse last Thursday. Ulf Werner Postulka, son of Mr. | and Mrs. Ernest Postulka of Aachen. Germany, is attending Syracuse high school for the 1966-67 year and is a senior. He is making his home with Mr. and Mrs. James Hershberger at Dewart Lake. Mark A. Wagner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Art’ Wagner, has enlisted in the Army Security and is stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Mrs. Hazel Strieby was released front the Goshen hospital Monday. FIVE YEARS AGO Seven teen-agers, one Miss Barbara Arnold, of Syracuse, were re- i leasee! from the Whitley county hospital following an accident seven miles south of Syracuse on S. R. I 13 Saturday evening. Thieves broke into the pro shop of the Wawasee Golf club early Tuesday morning talking SIOO in cash and nothing else. George Gardner, W. S. Nusbaum and Bill G. Coburn were elected to the Syracuse zoning board Tuesday night. The other board members are Max Carlson and Ernest : Nichols.
