Gaylord Toll Goes To LaVille As Principal Gaylord ToE, principal at Mentone high school for the past four years, has been named prmciapl of the new LaVille consolidated school, it was announced this week by Bryce W. Milter. superintendent of the Union-North United School Corporation. He succeeds Robert Monk who; earlier resigned the post to become I ' assistant principal of Manon highl school. At North Webster Principal Toll was associated | with the North Webster high school for nine years, first as a teacher then as principal. While at North Webster he was a civil leader and | president of the North Webster laons dub. Since moving to Mentone he has become Lions District Governor. He has his degrees from Ball State university and Indiana university. and is currently serving | on the curriculum committee of the Indiana Association of Junior and Senior high school principals. He is a member of the Mentone Methodist church. He is married to the former Flonnie Beaty of Muncie and they have two sons and two daughters. He is i a member of the U. S. army re- j serve. . Leitch has been promoted to sergeant in Viet Nam where he has been serving with the I armed forces for the last 14 months. Dr. Forest Kendall Elected To Head Wa-Nee Board Dr. Forest Kendall .was elected president of the Wa-Nee Community Schools Corporation Monday evening, Jdy 3, in a special! meeting of the school board. Other officers elected were Kenneth Smith, vice president and Russell Wenger, secretary. The board appointed Lowell Sheets to serve as treasurer for the coming year. Joseph Kindig was reappointed as the school attorney by the board. Routine regular business consumed the remainder erf the meeting. WRC HOLDS INITIATION i At the regular meeting of the John C. Adams 278 Women’s Relief I Corps of Syracuse. Mrs. NancyRoberts was initiated into the corps. The meeting was held July 3 in the Legion hall. Initiating officers were Mrs. John Craw, Mrs. Elva Connell, with Mrs. James Hamman, senior vice. Mrs. Ethe>i Grubb, junior vice, and Mrs. Emory Guy, chaplain assist- j ing. Presktesit Mrs. Craw opened the meeting in regular form. Mrs. Roberts signed the register. There were 10 members present. At the August meeting there will be work and all members are urged ' to be present. FHA Members Attend State Convention Four local members of the Future Homemakers of America, -andi their advisor, attended the 21st anniversary of the state organization I at Indiana university June 27 and 28. The girls who attended were Joyce Tom. local president; Beth Marrs, vice president; Elam Carlin. secretary; Tamra Linn; and Mrs. Vera Moe. advisor. I This was the largest convention I ever held with almost one thousand members attending. A slumber party was enjoyed on Monday evening and a wiener roast was held at Warsaw lake on Tues- ’ day. Swimming, games, refreshments and record playing was enjoyed by all. Guests were Vicki Price. Wedding vows were exchanged on Saturday evening, July 1, at eight o'clock in the First Methodist church in Milford by Miss Joellen Me (Untie, daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McClintic of Milford, and Willard Ray Free, son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Free, also of Milford. Rev. Richard Sumner, pastor of the Milford church, performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of 150 guests. Candelabra, palms and two baskets of white mums and pink gladioli graced the altar of the church. White bows marked the pews. Nuptial music was provided by Miss Diana Ketring of Richmond, organist, and Miss Claudia Anglin of Etna Green, who sang “One Hand, One Heart", "More’ 4 and "The Lord’s Prayer". Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride appeared in a floor length gown of white bridal satin. Hie fitted bodice was designed with a scooped neckline and long sleeves with bridal points over the hands. Chantilly lace appliques complemented the skirt of unpressed pleats. The detachable chapel length train was secured by a bow at the shoulders. Her white silk illusion veil fell from a regal handmade crown of lace, crystals and simulated pearls. She carried pink roses on a white laced covered Bible with white satin streamers, rosebuds and love knots. Miss Janet Ramser ot Milford served the bride as maid of honor. Miss Janet Bum worth of Columbia City was the bridesmaid. Lesa Campbell, niece of the bridegroom, was the flower girl and Jeffrey Campbell, nephew of the bridegroom, was the ringbearer. Attendants in Pink The attendants wore similar dresses styled with an acetate brocade bodice and long back panel over a
I crepe skirt with a bow accenting the front waist. The maid of honor was dressed in candy pink and the : bridesmaid wore a darker shade of j pink dress. They wore a bow, matching their dresses, . for their headpiece. Each carried a king stem , white rose with bow and streamers. ! The flower girl was attired in a pink nylon dress fashioned with an empire style waist. The ringbearer carI ried the rings on a white satin pillow edged in lace. Max Duncan of Milford served as best man and Jack Stump USN. brother of the bride, was the groomsman. Ushers were Joseph Schlabach of Syracuse, cousin of the bride, and Jerry McClintic of Milfold, brother 1 of the bride. Mark and Jon Treesh of Milford lighted the candles. The mother of the bride wore a • two piece aqmCsilk suit dress with ' white accessories and the mother of the bridegroom was attired in a’pink i linen sheath with a pink lace over- ; coat and white accessories. Each had corsages of white roses. Mrs. Merle Campbell, Jr., of Mil- > ford, sister of the bridegroom, regi istered the guests. A reception followed in the church 1 ' dining room. The decorations consisted of a lace covered table with ' pink candles in a crystal candelabra and 1 four tier cake with sugar bells, roses, doves and topped with a bride land bridegroom. She told of a trip she and her husband had taken recently.. Milford Youth Center News By BECKY BROWN The Milford Youth Center will have a dance Friday. July 21. This is our first dance in the new youth center and the “Reasons Why” will be {laying. It will start at 8 p. m. and end at 11 p. m. There will be an admission charge. We are planning an open house for July 29. There will be a real swinging dance featuring our local group, the GT’s. Further details are being made. Everyone is invited to come and see our new building. This is also an opportunity for you parents to meet our sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Gilbert. They have been a great help in keeping our youth center going. The youth center will be open this Friday night from 7 to 11 p.ffi. There are still a few more repairs to be made, but the dance floor is ready. Let's start our new youth center off with a bang!

The marriage of Miss Mary Jo Juday and Paul S. Pelikan was recently solemnized in the Cromwell Calvary Lutheran church. Rev. Lewis Wtstenbarger officiated at the double ring ceremony in a setting of pink roses, white mums and candelabra. Music was provided by Mrs. Carroll Faushaugh. , The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Juday of Lake Wawasee. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Pelikan of Kendallville. White Pique and Lace Gown For her weduing the bride chose a gown of white pique with Venise lace. The empire bodice was fashioned with an oval neckline and cap sleeves of lace. Lace inserts I detailed the floor length A-line skirt I and detachable chapel train of pique was appliqued with lace. A Dutch crown of Venise la>6 held her bouffant veil of French fusion. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Kenneth Neff, as matron of honor, and her cousins. Miss Barbara Felts and Miss Jane Alber, as bridesmaids.
