Weldon (“Jumbo”) Ritchie Weldon (“Jumbo") Ritchie. 63. of Milford, died of carcinoma at 7 p.m. Friday at his home. He had been in failing health for four years. Mr. Ritchie was born September 22. 1903. in Milford, the son of John Wesley and Cassie (Bucher > Ritchie. He was a lifetime resident of Milford and a former employee of the Liberty Coach company at Syracuse. He was a member of the Eagles lodge at Warsaw. Surviving are the widow, the former Goldie Haggerty; and one sister, Mrs. Virgil <Alma> Bowman of Elkhart. Senices were conducted at 2 pm. Monday in the funeral hor.w at Mil ford. Rev. Donald Mishler, pastor of the Milford Church of the Nazarene. officiated and interment was in the Milford cemetery. Paul J. Pifer Funeral senices for Paul Joseph Pifer. He had resided at Syracuse for the past seven and one-half years, moving from Goshen. He was bpm at Warsaw on July--19. 1914. to George and Naomi (Campbel!) Prf-.r. On December 29, 1934. he was married to Marguerite Swygart who survives. Mr. Pifer was a member of St. Martin de Pbrres Catholic church at Syracuse. Surviving are the widow; his mother. Mrs. George Pifer, Warsaw; two daughters, Mrs. Larry 'Mary Jane' Woolsey and Mrsi Harold (Janice) Woolsey, both of Elkhart; two sons. Paul J. Pifer. Jr., serving with the U. S. army at Fort Knox. Ky. and James David Pifer. Syracuse: three brothers. Wayne and Clifford Pifer, both of Warsaw and Gene Pifer. Detroit. Mich.; and two sisters. Mrs. Ruth Krammer. Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Ervin (Julia) Rhoades. Loudanwfile, Ohio.

Thomas K. Warner 11 Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the North Webster funeral liome for Thomas K. Warner 11, 84. of North Webster. Rev. B. D. Clark officiated and burial was in the North Webster cemetery. Mr. Warner efied at 3 p.m.. at his home of complications. He had been ill for several years. He was born in North Webster on November 14, 1882. to .Albert and Louisa (Humble' Warner. The deceased had resided in North Webster until 1943 when he moved to Dearborn, Mich. He arid his sister. Ethel Dillman, owned and operated the Spring Wells Factory Lunch of Ford Motor company of Dearborn. He was married op September 23. 1901. to Lilian Mallon, who preceded him in death on July 27. 1966. Mr. Warner was a member of the North Webster Methodist church; the Summit City Masonic lodge of Fort Wayne; the Sons of the American Revolution; the Indiana Chapter of past presidents of the Dearborn Rotary ddb; and an honorary member of North Webster Lions. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Florence Allen of Tuscon, Ariz.; one nephew and three nieces. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Paulette Jean Walter Paulette Jean Walter, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darnel Walter, r 5 Goshen, died last Wednesday in Goshen hospital where she was born at 3.55 pjn. Tuesday. Surviving are the parents, Daniel and Judith (Bushong) Walter; three sisters, Darlene, Gina and Valarie, and two brothers, Gregory and Henry, all at home; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bushong. Goshen; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Henry Walter, Goshen; great-grandmother, Mrs. Clinton Bushong, Nies, Mich.; and great-great-grandfather, Charles Bushong. Syracuse. August Lundquist, pastor of the Syracuse church, officiated and interment w-as in the Syracuse cemetery. Frank Royer Frank Royer, 77, of North Webster died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23. at the Goshen hospital. He had been in ill health for five months. Mr. Royer was born May 1, 1890. in North Manchester, the son of Milton and Ida (Shireman' Royer. He moved to North Webster seven years ago from North Manchester. On September 18. 1912, he married Bertiia Brandenburg. A retired farmer and carpenter, Mr. Royer was a member of the North Webster Church of the Brethren. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Paul Royer of North Webster and J. Everett Royer of South Miami, Fla.; one daughter. Mrs. Kenneth (Doris' Griest of New Haven; six grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; one sister. Miss Lydia Royer of Mexico. Friends may call at Harris-Trox-el funeral home, North Webster, from noon today (Wednesday) until noon Thursday. Kehr Janes M. Kehr, Sr., 60, of Osceola. passed away Friday noon at the | South Bend Memorial hospital foli lowing an illness of several years. • Death was due to complications. Mr. Kehr was bom February 25. 1907, to Ira and Lisa (Weaver) Kehr at Syracuse. His wife Catherine M. preceded him death in 1944. He married Helen Jarvis at South Bend on June 22, 1946. and she survives. He was employed as an office ’clerk at the South Bend office of I United Conveyors and attended the (Faith Baptist church. Survivors besides the wife, two sons and two daughters and one grandson. Rev. Orvin Morrison officiated for services Monday in Goshen, with buriai in Syracuse cemetery. Mrs. Harrison Perry Mrs. Harrison (Alberta S.) Perry. . 70, of Warsaw, mother of A. W. (Bud) Landis of Leesburg, died at 6:50 a m. Saturday in Murphy Medical Center where she had been a patient since May 13. Death was due to complications. Mrs. Perry was bom at Akron on August 17, 1896. She had resided in Warsaw for 25 years, moving from .Akron. Her first marriage on February 10. 1912, to Wilbur Landis ended in divorce. On September 19, 1942, she was united in marriage to Harrison Perry. Mr. Perry preceded her in death January 2, 1967. Surviving in addition to the Leesburg son are four daughters, Mrs. Ernest Smith of Akron. Mrs. James Grant of Lexington. Ky., Mrs. Dean Coplen of Warsaw and Mrs. David Jamison of Burket; five sons, How-

Garrett Van Keppel Is Speaker For Milford Memorial Services
Garrett Van Keppel. DeMott, second district American Legion commander, will be the Memorial Day speaker at Milford. Services at the cemetery will follow the annual parade. Hie parade will form at the high school at 10 a.m. and will move out at 10:30 according to Daniel Levemier, commander of the Ancil Geiger post 226, American Legion. The line of march is from the school to Main, street, north to the Om nursing home and south on the Milford-Syracuse road to Augsburger’s. Mrs. Minnie Kuhn Funeral senices were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Minnie Kiihn. 92, who died Friday from complications after an illness of two years. She was bom in Kosciusko county July 18, 1874, to John and Mary Orr. Most of her life was spent in North Webster and Barbee. She was a housewife and her husband was Albert Kidin. She had been a widow for 50 years. She was a member of the North Webster Methodist church and the W’otnen's Society for Christian Service. She is survived by two daughters. Mrs. Earl (Irene) Gerard, of North Webster and Mrs. Frank (Helen) Helvie of South Bend, one grandson, Joe Gerard of Deland. Ha., six grandchildren, two nieces. Five brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Likens Funeral services were conducted in the North Webster Church of the Brethren by Rev. Clayton Mock. Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Ancel 'Bertha) Likens. 88, who passed away Saturday, May 20. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw." Mrs. Likens had been ill about four months and death was due to complications. She was born in Franklin. Pa., on July 25, 1878, to Benjamin and Eliza Dunn, but most of her life was spent in the North Webster area. She was married in 1900 to Ancel Likens who preceded her in death in 1950. Mrs. Likens was a housewife. She was a member of the North Webster Church of the Brethren; the Royal Neighbors of .America; and the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. She is survived by three sons, Cecil of Kendallville; Colonel of Sidney; and Cyril <Bus> of North Webster; one daughter. Mrs. Neva i Lawrence of Mansfield, Ohio; five grandchildren and one step-grand-child; and one sister, Mrs. Winfield Kircher of Defiance, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one daughter, one sister and a brother. Burial was in the North Webster cemetery.

Albert Zbinden Albert Zbinden. 84. a resident of Crescent City. 111., for the past 12 years and a former resident of Cissna Park. 111., died Saturday, May 13, in Carle hospital at Urbana, 111. Bom April 16, 1883, in Risk. 111., he was the son of John and Anna Kipfer Zbinden. He was married in 1908 at Milford, Ind., to Flora Me Gee, who died in 1919. They lived in Milford. He married Loma Kietzmann on February 20, 1935, and she survives, Mr. Zbinden was a former mayor of Cissna Park. Other survivors include three sons. Dale, Pontiac, Roscoe. Justice, and Earl, Watseka. Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Peters. Cissna Park: a sister, Mrs. Bertha Heiniger, LaCrosse, Ind.; a brother, Ben. Cissna Park; six grandchildren and two great-grand-children. Services w’ere held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. May 16, at the Apostolic Christian church near Cissna Park. Rev. Emmanuel Gudeman officiated. Burial was in the Cissna Park cemetery. Mrs. Blanche Fleming Mrs. Blanche Fleming. 85, of 249 W. Portland. Syracuse, where she resided with her daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Kitson, died at 12:15 a.m. on Monday, May 22, at the Elkhart hospital. Death was due to complications. She had been in failing health for two years. Mrs. Fleming was bom October 13. 1882. in Warsaw, the daughter of Martin and Rebecca (Pittinger) Kinch. In 1908 she married John Fleming and he preceded her in death in 1959. She moved to Syracuse in 1953 from Freemont. Mrs. Fleming was a member of Calvary EUB church at Syracuse. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Kitson. Mrs. Raymond Kitson. Mrs. Daniel • Jones, Mrs. Edwin Gillie of Fort Wayne. Mrs. Gertrude Fleming of Syracuse, and Mrs. David Linstrom of Warren, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Services were conducted at 10 a.m. this morning (Wednesday) in the funeral home at Syracuse. Rev. Kennard Robinson officiated and interment was in the Syracuse cemetery.
