AN EXERCISE FOR HAPPINESS In this day of isometric exercises to tone up the body, why not add a simple exercise to tone up our mental attitude toward life? We might call it “setting up exercises” to strengthen our potential for happiness. Here is the way it works: Devote 10 minutes every morning to reminding yoursetf vigorously of all the things you ought to be glad about. Shut out every other thought. At first you may not be able to think of many things, especially if you wake up with a grouchy feeling before you’ve had your coffee. But after a little practice you will realize there are hundreds of things to be glad about for every one there is to fret over.
