The Wawasee high school advisory committee has announced that a contest is underway to find a school hymn for the future Lakeland high school. Rhetama members are busy memorizing lines, painting sets, and are making final plans for their production of a fun-packed comedy on Friday. Saturday night was a great success with about 200 persons attending to pay tribute to the i Tikis one of our local banvfc which started their careers at our local I Youth Center, They have worked! very hard for the past few years and now have one of the finest combo's in this part of the country. > They went to Chicago Tuesday to make their first record. Good luck j fellows on your new venture. I was highly pleased at the number of adults who came in to visit us at our dance. This is something I have been trying to effect for some time. The kids and I appreciate your interest and enjoy your company. Well, M's getting just like old home week arouad here, this Saturday we have another local combo which started here. They started as the Olympics and have since changed ther name to the Five Good Reasons. Ji my memory serves me corrector this was the first combo to play here. All these boys are now in college and they have been playing for college dances and by the way, I hear it wun't be long until they will cut a record also. This one will be on the “must” list folks so don't miss it. The dance will be from 7:30-10:30 as usual and I will be looking forward to seeing you Saturday.

Donna Huff Named Merit Scholar Donna Huff, r 3 Syracuse, a student at Syracuse high school has won a Manchester college merit scholarship in nationwide competition. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hershberger of r 3 Syracuse and one of Syracuse high school s co-salutatorians. Manchester college is a coeducational, four-year liberal arts college with a normal enrolment of 1.2C0 students. It grants the degree of bachelor of arts or bachelor of science and operates under the auspices of the Church of the Brethren. It is open to all aca-demically-qualified young people who are sympathetic with its Christian ideals. The colkge is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the National Council for Accrediation of Teacher Education. Math Major Donna intends to major in mathe- j ; maties at Manchester and {dans a ' career in secondary education. Janet Purdum And Robert Hoerr Named Honor Students At Milford
Janet Purdum and Robert Hoerr have been named valedictorian and salutatorian. respectively, of the 1967 graduating class of Milford high school, according to Donn D. Kesler, principal. Janet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Purdum. Jr., maintained a perfect 4.0 average throught high school to lead her class. Robert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoerr, had an academic average of 3.9. Miss Purdum, who plans to attend Hanover college, is a member of the National Honor Society and is president of the senio : class. She has served as president of the science dub.
