NOW. -rareßtf Y»K BK IT ORDAINTO by the Board 1 Town Trustees of the Town of Milfora Junction. Indiana:
Section 1. For the purpose of this Ordinance. "Junk Car" shall mean and describe any motor vehicle or the remains thereof which (a> Does not bear a current valid license plate, and (b) Is not housed in a garage or other building. Section 2. Junk Cars as herein defined are her-by declared to bv nuisances except in lawfully operated iunk yards or yards lawfully operated for vehicles awaiting permission for junking from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles or lots utilized and maintained by new and used car dealers at their legally recognized place i of business. Section 3. The Town Marshall or any 1 m.-mber of the police department may I order any junk car removed within ten 110* days following notice of such order. Section 4. Notice of an order requiring removal of a junk car shall be given to the owner of the junk car and the owner of the real estate upon which the junk car is located, provided, however, that such notice affixed to any building on the real estate or delivered to any adult occupying the real estate shall be and constitute notice to the owner of the real estate: and a notice of such order affixed to the junk car shall be and constitute notice to the owner of said junk car. Section 5 If said junk car te not removed within th<- time so fixed, th- Town Marshall shall cause said motor vehicle or v-hicles to b- remov<-d at the expense : of th- owner of the real estate and the owner «*f said Junk Car. who shall be i Jointly and severally liable for such expense. and which expense shall constitute a li> n upon said junk car Said Junk car may b- towed either by employees of the Town of Milford Junction or by commercial towtag firms and placed In an impounding yard where it shall be held for a p-riod of not less than Sixty »60* days during which time the own- r or owners th- reof may r< possess the same by paying all expenses of towing and impounding storage. In the ev-nt that said junk car is not repossess* d within a p. riod of Sixty ‘W)> days from the date of such impounding- the Town Marshall shall be and te hereby authorized to offer said junk car for sale to the highest and test bidder at public auction to be held not less than ten <lo* days after one publication »nd notice of such sale to be published In a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Milford Junction, Indiana, and the proceeds from such sale shall be us< d to pay towing expenses and •o pay siorat- in gny impounding yard when said junk cars are h-ld Any ov-r---plus remaining after the payment of such charges shall be paid to th- owner of said junk car." Section 6. Any owner of a junk car or occupant of the real estate upon which It Is located or owner of such real estate who shall fall to obey and comply with the ord-r to remove said junk car as her-in provided, shall upon conviction be fined in the amount of Ten Dollars <BlO.l and each day on which said Junk car te p-rmilted to r-tnain upon the real -state of its location following the time fixed in said order for removal, shall be and constitute a s parate offense Section 7. Whereas, an -xtr-me emergency exist*, and this ordinance shall be in full force smd effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Two Breakdns At Milfortf Two break-ins are being investigated by the Milford police this week — one at Gulf Oil and the other at Syracuse Enterprise. A person or persons broke into Syracuse Enterprise between the hours of 1 and 7 a.m. Tuesday and carried the safe outside the building where it was left. The office was reunsacked with $lB in bills and $5.85 in small change being taken. Both the coffee and Coke machines were broken, however, the thief or thieves did not get into the money compartments on the machines. The break-in at Gulf Oil occurred Friday when thieves entered a window. One check for $69.70 was taken as was about S6O in cash. McConnell - Ebersole Nuptials Read At Leesburg Brethren Church
Miss Mary Joyce Ebersole of 1015 east Center street, Warsaw, daughter of Mrs. George Ebersole of Enterprise, Pa., and the late Mr. Ebersole became the bride of Nolan Clarence McConnell, son of Roger McConnell of Leesburg, in a recent afternoon ceremony at the Leesburg Brethren church. Rev. Paul Fink, pastor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of approximately 100 guests. The altar was decorated with candelabra, palms and pink and white arrangements of mixed flowers. White satin bows marked the pews. Organist James Morrison of Winona Lake provided traditional wedding music. Given in marriage by her brother, George Ebersole of Winona Lake, th? bride wore a floor length gown of white silk organza and lace 1 over taffeta. The lace bodice featured a scalloped square neckline highlighted by seed pearls and long sleeves tapering to points over her hands. Small organza flowers ornamented the back waistline. Her w aist length veil of illusion was held in place by a crown of seed pearls. She earned a cascade arrangement of white carnations. earii centered with a pink rosebud and ivy. Sister Maid of Honor Miss Gail Ebersole of Enterprise. Pa., attended her sister as maid of honor. She chose a floor length gown of pink silk chiffon and lace. Over the strapliess sheath gown which featured an empire waistline she wore a pink lace jacket with elbow 1 length sleeves and a modified bpat neckline. Small chiffon flowers srcured her brief veil and a cascade arrangement of pink and white carnations with ivy completed her ensemble. James McConnell of Warsaw, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Paul Ebersdie and John L. McConnell, both of Warsaw, brothers of the bride and bridegroom respectively, served as ushers. The three tiered cake topped with a minature bride and bridegroom. pink snapdragons and silver service decorated the table for the reception held immediately following the ceremony at the social room of the Lake City bank in Warsaw. Assisting with the serving were Miss Shirley Ebersole of Enterprise. Pa.. Miss Becky Schermmerhom of Indianapolis, Miss Sandra Eaton and Mi's. Elzin Kipker, both of Warsaw. The bride is a 1964 graduate of Northern Bedford county high school in Pennsj’lvania and was j employed as a laboratory techni- ! cian at Litchfield Creamery, Winona Lake. The bridegroom, a 1964 graduate of Jackson, Ohio, high school, is serving in the U. S. Army, currently stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Following a brief honeymoon in Michigan the newlyweds left for Texas, where they are now at home at 614 north 16th street, Killeen, Texas. Methodist Church Supper And Program On Sunday evening. May 7, at 6 p.m. a potluck supper will be held in the Methodist church fellowship hall. After supper, a slave auction wgl be held by the MYF. Pictures and a talk on "The Pastor Goes to W’ashington” will be given in the main sanctuary. It will be a report on Rev. Gosser’s trip to the Washington Seminar. A farewell party was held for him following the evening church services Sunday night. A camera was presented to him and refreshments of | punch and cookies were served. Merchants In Meeting Monday There were 11 merchants present at the meeting held Monday afternoon at the town hall. The meeting was spent in working on the details for Leesburg Davs to be held in July. May Meeting Os Town Board Ail members of the town board and town marshall, Hugh McCann were present at the May meeting of the town board. The next meeting will be the second Monday in June at which time the budget will be made up for the coming year. It was decided that Hugh McCann be appointed to find a man to clean up the Jeannie Giant property. A cumulative building fund was discussed as a look into the future for a sewage disposal and water system when it would be needed.

The Milford public library 1 will be closed all day Thursday, May 4, in order that the librarians can attend the second district conference for librarians and library trustees, which 4 ! will be held in the Warsaw public library. ♦ ♦ • During National Week we placed a suggestion box in the library and asked that patrons and local residents make suggestions, criticisms or comments on library service, material, etc. We were surprised and disappointed at the lack of interest shown. Silver Thimble Club Plans Trip To Westville Members of the Silver Thimble club of Milford are planning a trip to the Beatty Memorial hospital at Westville in June. Tote bags were made at their Tuesday evening meeting. They will be given to the patients in Ward N at the hospital. The Tuesday evening meeting was held in the beautiful new home of Mrs. Bernard Beer at Nappanee. Mrs. Richard Hunsberger and Mrs. Carlton Beer were co-hostesses. During the business meeting, presided over by Mrs. Don Hoover, discussion was held on future projects to be taken by the club members. Mrs. Robert Kaiser won the door prize and rose bouquets were presented to Mrs. Nelson Beer, the youngest mother, and Mrs. Walter Wuthrich, the oldest mother present. Favors of tiny rose baskets carried out the rose theme in decorations for the evening. A jell-o dessert was served.
