The highlight of the golf season will be the county golf tournament to be held cm May 18 at South Shore. Park Phend and Gary Hurd will be playing in the number one and two positions for this year's Trojans. Dana Haab, a promising, freshman, is shooting some fine golf in early practice rounds and probably will be Slaving in the third position. Jim Orn. Jan Kuer. Mark Ramser and Dan Brown will also be playing golf for this year's Trojan golf team. Court News Divorce Suit Filed Ray Warren of Milford has filed a divorce suit in Kosciusko circuit court against Marcella Warren. The couple was married November and separated March 7, 1967. There are three children. Syracuse Wins First Golf Meet By Kermit Welly The Syracuse golf team traveled to Bremen to open the 1967 golf season at the Sprig-A-Mint golf course. The Jackets beat their opponents by six strokes as they had a •wellbalanced attack. John Hulley, Bob Carlson, and Casey Kroh each shot 42’s and Tom Crews had a 43. Curt Stine took medalist honors with a score of 40. Thu final score was Svracuse 169 and Bremen 175.
Ligonier Wins Four-Way Meet The Red Raiders from Ligonier won a four-way track meet Tuesday over Milford. Cromwell and North Webster. The Ligonier team finished the meet with TR4 points. Tuesday Afternoon Lady Bowlers Hold Luncheon Members and guests of the Tuesday Afternoon Ladies bowling league at Wawasee Bowl held their spring luncheon banquet Tuesday afternoon at Goshen with 55 in attendance. Kinder Manufacturing's team was in charge of arrangements for the affair. The large U-shaped table was decorated with potted geraniums with a large cut-flower floral arrangement gracing the officers’ table. The flowers were awarded as door prizes to the following: Thelma Hattersley, Lavonne Hawk, Anne Gallahan. Inez Beiswanger, Linds' Vance. Mildred Denzel. Barbara Tood and Margaret Teghtmeyer with the cut flower arrangement going to Agnes Smith. Elect Officers June Auer, vice president, presided for the business meeting at which time B. J. Silveus was elected president; Virginia Elijah, vice president; Susie Tytler, secretary; Phvllis Maresh, treasurer; and Wava* Finton, re-elected sergeant-at-arms. Outgoing officers are: President. Terry Schrock Totals Camaro Terry Schrock, son of Mr. and Mrs flarold Schrock, escaped with cuts and scratches when he was thrown from his 1967 Camaro at 2.45 am. today. The car was a total loss. Details of the accident are unavailable as we go to press. Terry returned to the States recently after serving in Viet Nam. SYRACUSE LOCAL Mr. and Mrs. Emory Guy. Mrs. .Agnes Stiffler. Mrs. Helen Overstreet and Mrs. Georgia Buster, Syracuse, wer? at Warsaw Monday evening. They attended the Kosciiisko county Senior Citizens dinner and meeting.
Senior Citizens One Year Old The Turkey Creek Senior Citizens met in the fire station Tuesday evening for its regular meeting. President Mrs. Georgia Buster opened the meeting with the salute to the flag. Mrs. Buster told the group that the club is now one year old with the first meeting being held in April of 1966. She also reported the club has 28 paid members, and in the past year a large number of cards had been sent, not only to members but other senior citizens in the community as well: an appreciation dinner given for the firemen; an American flag had been presented to the dub by the American Legion Post 223: a donation made to the Syracuse civil defense unit; books collected for the Indiana state prison: and the project now is collecting magazines and making scuffs for the Veterans' hospital at Fort Wayne. Following the business session, the meeting was turned over to the committee for the evening. Mrs. Agnes Stiffler and Mrs. Mamie Wesner. Mrs. Stiffler led the group in singing “When You Wore a Tulip”. “In the Evening by the Moonlight”, and “The More We Get Together”. Mrs. Stiffler read the William Hershel poem “Ain’t God Good to Indiana”. Birthdays for Mrs. Wesner and Mrs. James Hamman were celebrated by the group singing “Happy Birthday” and ice cream and cake were served to the 18 members present. A silent auction was held and games played with a number of prizes awarded. The next meeting will be the pot luck supper on April 25 with Mr. and Mrs. Peter A. Blue as the committee. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.
Eta Beta Pi Society Observes Anniversary The 44th anniversary of the Eta Beta Pi Society was observed Monday evening at a restaurant in South Bend with 18 members present. Place cards and favors in keeping with spring marked the places of the members who were seated at two long tables. Each table was lighted with candles and centered with an elaborate floral arrangement. At the close of the evening the flowers were given to Mrs. Peter Beer of Goshen and Mrs. Harold Jorgenson of Dewart Lake who held the lucky numbers. Mrs. Harold Bums of South Bend and Mi's. Loren Heckaman were in charge of arrangements for the dinner. Others attending were Mrs. Preston Klinger, Mrs. John Rookstool. Mi's. LaMar Garber, Mrs. Lawrence Polk and Mrs. Esther Gentzhom of Elkhart; Mrs. Kenneth Calbeck, Mrs. Don Anglin, Mrs. Russell Price and Mrs. John Robinson of Nappanee; Mrs. Russell Neff, Mrs. Harold Tom, Mrs. Albert Graff, Mrs. Roy Schultz and Mrs. Charles Kerlin of Milford. LITTLE GIRL ILL: WELL KNOWN HERE Little Christie Bucher, five years old and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bucher, Jr., of r 1 Xfllford. has bren quite seriously ill sinse she was admited to the Linville Memorial hospital in Columbia City on April 4. Christie had a kidney infection, which has improved to some extent, but she is now suffering from an allergic condition. The attending physician said at this stage of the illness it could be one of several ailments. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Drudge of Pierceton are the maternal grandparents. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Bucher, Sr., of r 3 Syracuse. COUNTY TAX FORMS LN THE MAIL Reports from the county treasurer’s office are that tax forms for Kosciusko . county residents have been mailed. Some were mailed from Warsaw last evening with the remainder being in today’s mail.
