Three In Thefts Are Arrested Thefts occurring at the North Webster post office, a safe from a house and a Syracuse business estabishment have resulted in the arrest of three people on December 12 who include a North Webster weman. an escaped convict and a parole violator. The three were under suspicion since the North Webster theft on November 18. They are Lezel Elaj Sanford, 42, r 1 North Webster, Louis Bean. 39. whose last address was the Indiana state prison and Robert Louis Cassidy, 36, Middleton, Ohio, listed as a parole violator. Bean was identified as one involved in the burglary at McCbrm-ick-Cutter, Inc., Syracuse, on De- , cember 2. A check bearing the name of Harold Heche of r 1 Pierceton was identified as having been cashed by Bean in Fort Wayne. Heche's home, i near North Webster, was burglarized on November 27 when $1,725 in cash, checks and eight diamonds in a safe were taken. Investigating officers were state troop'r John Hammersley and sheriff Howard Holbrook. No Sunday School At Methodist Church Rev. County Senior Citizens Hold Christmas Party The Kosciusko County Senior Citizens held their Christmas party last Monday evening in the Shrine building on the fairgrounds at Warsaw. There were 95 members present to enjoy the pot hick dinner with the ham and turkey furnished by the chi>. Capt. G. Howard Palomaki of the Warsaw Salvation Army gave the table grace. Following the dinner the salute to the flag was given. President Oren Bumworth presided at the business meeting. All officers of 1966 were re-elected for the coming year. The kitchen committee elected was Mrs. Mildred Hill, Mrs. Pearl Novak and Mrs. Don Shoemaker. The meeting was then turned over to Capt. Palomaki who preSYRACUSE LOCALS Mr. and Mrs. Peter Blue of Syracuse left Wednesday for a visit with relatives in Connecticut. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Snyder and John Beck of Cromwell were Tuesday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Beck of Syracuse. Mrs. Brad Beiswanger and children of Indianapolis are spending the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Ganshom. and daughter at Syracuse. Mr. Beiswanger plans to join them this week end for the holidays.

New Salem News By MRS. RAY FERVERDA CHRISTMAS PROGR.AM PRESENTED SUNDAY The children of the primary department presented their Christmas program on Sunday forenoon. Teachers assisting with the children were Mrs. Orvil Kilmer. Mrs. Bill Speicher, Mrs. Frank Johnson. Mrs. Wayne Teeple and Mrs. Gerald Dausman. A singspiration was held on Sunday evening under the direction of Mrs. Emory Stetler. Opening the program with an organ and piano duet was Nancy Johnson and Mrs. Everett Tom. Jr. Devotions were given by Rev. Kreider and the Plank family sang a song. Cynthia and Richard Rapp sang a duet as Cynthia aeavmpanied on I the piano. Their number was "How ! Great Thou Art". The men and the boys sang 'We 1 Three Kings of Orient Are" and the girl's chorus of 11 voices presented • Angels We Have Heard on High”. Mrs. Stetler and Mrs. Tom. Jr., sang a duet “Star of the East". [The Ladies trio sang “Carol of : Christmas” and the junior chorus sang two numbers. “0 Holy Night" was played as an instrumental number by Brenda Hurd, saxophone: Carla Speicher, chimes; Diana Morehouse, baritone; Nancy Johnson, organ: and Mrs. Everett Tom. Miss Janet Benson and David Me I Comiiek were united in marriage on Friday. Dec. 9. at 8 p.m. at the Syracuse Church of the Brethren. Rev. Ralph Wagoner performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of 65 guests. The church was decorated with candelabras. palm leaves and baskets of white and yellow mums. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Warren Benson of r 4 Syracuse and Mr. and Mrs. \rnold Me Cormick of Ligonier. Mrs. Jerry Hapner, soloist, s..ng “0 Promise Me”. "Through the Yems”, and "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. Ralph Wagoner, pianist, accompanied her and also played “Because”. "I Love You Truly", and the “Wedding March.” Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a street length dresof gold brocade with white flowers. ' She had a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses with white carnations, j When leaving the church she wore a coat which matched her dress. Maid of honor. Miss Pamela Coburn, Syracuse, wore a flower printed suit and had yellow sweetheart roses. David Crockett of Ligonier served as best man, and John Losee. Syracuse, ushered the guests. The bride's mother wore a gold two-piere suit and the bridegroom s mother wore a silver-green two-piece suit. They each wore a corsage of white and yellow sweetheart roses. A reception was held following the ceremony in the church dining room. The cake was three tiered with yellow and white decorations.
