Charles Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Johnson, Syracuse, is participating in the project Gemini GT7-GT6 mission as member of air anti-submarine squadron 28 in the Atlantic Ocean. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bitner, r 2 Syracuse, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Calvary EUB church, Syracuse. Mrs. Ralph D. Clingaman of Ogden Island was hostess to the Syracuse-Wawasee Garden club in her home Tuesday evening. There were 60 members and guests present. condition. Jack Ronketti has purchased the bowling lanes located in the Pickwick block from Jack Stoelting. Mrs. Leonard Barnhart visited in Huntington recently with Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Granlund. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Brazel and family visited their son Walter at the U. S. Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, OS., on Saturday. TWENTY YEARS AGO The Zion Chapel W. M. A. and the Good Will Home Economics club served dinner Tuesday at the Henry Miller sale, south of Syracuse. Work on the new Pickwick building is progressing, but the date of the opening is not being announced. Esten E. McClintic died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday in the McDonald hospital near Warsaw. Four sons, one daughter, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two brothers survive, Knox Stetler and sons were Thanksgiving day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Hire and Mrs. E. W. Hire of Elkhart. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Evans and son of DeMotte spent Thanksgiving Day here with Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Cox. THIRTY YEARS AGO Dr. and Mrs. Robert Riddle of Butler spent Thursday evening with Mrs. Elizabeth Riddle. The Lake Wawasee community like Syracuse is growing and progressing. Last summer there was a greater demand for hotel accomodations and cottages than could be filled. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hinderer entertained at a family dinner Thanksgiving day. Mrs. Guy Ott of one-mile north if Syracuse escaped with only minor injuries Saturday afternoon when her automobile and a truck collided at the intersection of roads 6 and 13.
