| ment to member Bill Jones who is program chairman this week. He thought he might not have a turnout Monday and was rightfully edgy. Our report to Bill was that we knew just how many members the Rotary club has. since most of them | have lodged their complaint to us. Actually, several members did prefer meeting on Tuesday instead of Monday, and it was discussed at a board meeting, but no vote was taken. The only possible consolation we can get out of an erroneous report. ! is that our paper is being read. • • • Henry is home. So says Elmer Stucky.

Henrv is the friendly black LabI rador Retriever, sent to the Stuckys bv Ted Stucky of Oregon. He arrived Tuesday, Nov. 15. and soon came | up missing. Elmer's son-in-law, Lewlis S. Immel. called on The MailJournal to help get Henry back. We ran a box notice, and guess what happens? Elmer received a telephone call from Cromwell on Wednesday night, shortly after the paper hit the streets. Elmer was glad to have Henry back; and Henry was glad to be back at Elmers. • • • Shirlev Etsinger is the young new f .ce in NIPSCo s Syracuse office, she is a New Paris lass, and is taking the place of Sharon Hoke who is returning to the company's Goshen

While the family room is being remodeled. Johnnie and Mary Kimble will skip off for a few weeks into the Florida sunshine. • • • Have you noticed the interior of the uptown Bushong barber shop? The walls are being paneled with Harvest birch, and the ceiling is being lowered to nine feet. Looks real good. We’re happy to notice the quick action taken by uptown merchants following a meeting last Tuesday a.m. Thev went right to work, and yet that day began putting up Christmas decorations. On Wednesday they finished the job. Speaking of Christmas, we think Syracuse stores this year have an unusually good display of Christmas merchandise One shouldn't have to go any further to do his shopping. Our advice: Give local merchants a chance first. • e • George Pippenger, r 2. has been ; taking a little four-yw-old grandniece of his wife on Ms concession J route recently until the young lady | returned to her home Wide-eyed and eager to talk to anvone. she was quick to learn the names of many factory workers along his multi-plant route. She saw several ladies buying a man's coat at Tom Socks, and said . to them. “Ohhh. you're on the wrong i side."

Christian Science Lesson For This Sunday “God the Only Cause and Creator” is the title of this week’s Les-son-Sermon to be read in all Christian Science churches this Sunday. Scriptural readings include Matthews account of Jesus’ healing of thg insane boy who fell "ofttimes .into the fire, and oft into the water”, and Jesus’ admonition to his disciples, “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain. Remove hence to vender place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." A correlative passage from the denominational textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Sriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is this: “Our Master cast out devils tevils> and healed the sick. It should be said of his followers also, that the\- cast fear and all evil out of themsehes and others and heal the sick. God will heal the sick through man. whenever man is ! governed by God. Troth casts out error now as surely as it did 19 centuries ago."
