RESULTS OESYRACUSE JUNIOR LEAGUE BASEBALL The weekly results of the Little League baseball at Syracuse is as follows: T-Ball League The Mets defeated the Cubs 21 to 19, with the following standings: Mets 3-0 Cards 2-1 Cubs 04 Minor League In the Minor League games Tuesday, the Rotary team defeated Pilcher’s 11 to 7 and on Thursday, the Bank won over the Lions 10-2. The final standings are as follows: Rotary 4-2 (League Champs) . Bank 3-3 Lions 2-3-1 Pilcher’s 2-3-1 Major League On Monday the Bank defeated Rotary 4-1 and in Friday’s game Pilcher’s defeated the Lions 19-6. The standings follow: Pilcher’s 6-2 Lions 5-3 Bank 3-5 Rotary 2-6 Major League Tourney Monday, Aug. 22 - Rotary vs Bank Tuesday. Aug. 23 - Lions vs Pilcher’s Thursday, Aug. 25 - Finals Awards will be presented after final tourney game. MILFORD LITTLE LEAGUE RESULTS Monday evening Campbell's Sox defeated' Baumgartner s Indians 15 to 3. Starting pitcher for Campbells was Mark Shearer and for Baumgartners Don Crume. The most valuable player for Campbells was Larry Kaiser and for Baumgartners’Dave Troup Home runs were made by Mark Shearer and Lyle Slabaugh for Campbells. Triples were made by Larry Kaiser and Lvk Slabough also for Campbells. Tuesday evening Syracuse Sox defeated Bean's Pure Oil 2 to 1. Starting pitcher for Bean's was Kent Doty. Most valuable players were Don Mav and Dana Haab. Wednesday ' evening Augsburger’s Cards defeated Sharp's Dodgers 25 to 4. Starting pitcher for Augsburgers was Don Beer and for Sharps Grant Geiger. Most valuable player for Augsburger’s was Mark Vaiilaningham and for Sharps Dave Hamilton. Milford Police Give Warning On Tomato Throwing The Milford police department has issued a warning on throwing tomatoes in the town of Milford. The charge for throwing tomatoes . or crushing them on other persons property is vandalism and anyone caught in such an act will be prose-1 cuted to the fullest extent of the • law. ENGAGED — Mr. and Mrs. Bruce D. McClintic, Milford, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss JoEUen McClintic, to Cpl. Willard R. Free, U. S. M. C., son of Mr and Mrs. Woodrow Free of Milford. Miss McClintic, a 1966 graduate of Milford high school, will be a freshman in the Parkview Memorial hospital school of nursing at Fort Wayne this fall. Cpl. Free, a 1962 graduate of Milford high school, has served four rears in the Marine Corps, with nine months spent with the 2d Battalion in Viet Nam. He is presently a recruit trainer at Camp Pendleton. Calif. No wedding date has been set.

Milford Cub Scouts Visit Bunker Hill Air Force Base Members of the Milford cub scout pack and their sponsors and parents enjoyed Saturday at Bunker Hill air force base near Peru. Under the guidance of Lt. Brooks they underwent orientation in the base theater and were shown a movie. CORN CRIB AND GRAINERY DESTROYED BY FIRE A corn crib and grainery on the John Fisher farm south of Milford on state road 15 was completely destroyed when fire broke out Aug. 8 The building was empty at the time. Also damaged was a pick-up truck parked nearby. The tires, seats and other parts w’ere burned. One lady at the scene cut her arm and was rushed to a local doctor’s office by Milford police chief Ralph Gansert. SYRACUSE COACH AND FAMILY MOVES TO NEW HOME Syracuse high school coach Kenneth Workman and family moved last week from the J. Rigdon farm south of Syracuse to the Homer Allen property which they recently purchased.

Mrs. Bauer, the former Mary Ann Beer, recently graduated from the Kankakee, 111., School of Practical Nursing. She commuted from her home to Kankakee five days a week for the past year. She plans to work part time at a neighboring hospital.
