Beverage and cup cakes were furnished by the adult leader, Mrs. Ronald Greider, and the accompanying potato chips, jello desserts, condiments, etc,, were furnished by the junior leaders. Nineteen members and three guests were present for the outing. Guests arrived with Theresa Wiseman, Susan Ball and Mrs. Greider.
Beta Psi Chapter Installs New Officers Installation of new officers was the primary order of business at the regular meeting of the Beta Psi chapter of the Lambda Chi Omega sororitv held at the home of Mrs. Albert Hamman, Jr., Tuesday night. Mrs. Robert Fidler conducted the installation ceremonies for the following new officers: President. Mrs. David Berger; vice president.
Mrs. Doug Black; recording secretary, Mrs. Bob Dellinger; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Paul Scott; treasurer, Miss Betty Weimer; sergeant-at-arms, Miss Mary Lou Denzel; rush captain, Mrs. Junior Hamman; historian, Mrs. Phil Fidler; chapter editor, Mrs. Curtis Shock; chapter reporter, Mrs. James Bachelder: associate organizer, Mrs. Loren Kruger. Other business of note was discussion and final plans for operating a parking lot during the Mermaid Festival. This is one of the major money making projects sponsored by the sorority each year. The parking lot sponsored by the Beta Psi chapter is located on the vacant lots owned by Mrs. Tom Warner just back of the C. J. Menzie residence. Following the meeting, the hostess assisted by Mrs. Merritt Wagoner served ice cream, a cinnamon roll dessert, coffee and tea. -NW— Backwater Friends To Appear On TV The Backwater Friends Home Demonstration club of Webster will appear on the television show "The Ann Colone Show” at 1 p. m. Wednesday, June 29. They will enjoy a catered lunch at the studios before the show goes on the air. Then the group will watch the show being telecast live, participate in interviews and be entertained by a professional musical or variety act. The event has been arranged by Mrs. Norman Rhodes, r 1 Warsaw.

JAMES GREINER ACCEPTS POSITION WITH LYALL ELECTRIC James Greiner, a former music instructor in the North Webster high school recently resigned his position with the music department at Goshen high school and accepted a position as director of program training with Lyall Electric at Albion. Mr. Greiner, who has been with Lyall a couple weeks, had just returned from a recent vacation. He and his family spent their vacation as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Metz and daughter, Brenda, in their Milwaukee home and at Lake Delton, Wis. —NW—LOCAL YOUTH RETURNS FROM SEMINAR ON AEROSPACE EDUCATION Michael McClure, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. McClure, Jr., returned to his home here Saturday after having spent 10 days attending the Aerospace Education Seminar for youths throughout the United States. The seminar, which was held at Purdue university, was on an experimental basis this year and plans are now underway to repeat the program and probably set 14) on a regularly scheduled basis. At the seminar Michael, who has his beginner’s pilot license, received academic training for a private pilot’s license and some training on dual flight orientation. Mike will be a senior at North Webster high school next year and plans to enroll at Purdue after
graduation and work for a BS degree in professional aviation. - NW — COMMUNITY NEWS Rev. and Mrs. Lewis Thomas and family and Rev. and Mrs. J. L. Kline were guests of Mr. and Mrs. On a Miller and Sally for a chicken barbecue last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Ilnicki of Goshen spent last week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orme! Kline. Mrs. M. C. Stanfield of Papakeechie lake, Mrs. S. E. Manin of Barbee lake and Mrs. George Staples and son Joe spent last Friday in Lebanon visiting relatives and friends. They were dinner guests of Mrs. Ada Gleb, mother of Mrs. Manin. Mrs. Hilda Parsons and daughter Phyllis White and her son Stevie of Indianapolis visited with Mrs. Herbert Brunner last Wednesday. Mrs. Leo Kowallik and Mrs. C. L. McClure, Jr., left this morning (Wednesday) for Miami, Beach, Fla., where they will attend the National Education Association convention. Both ladies are teachers in the Lakeland school system and will sene as delegates assigned to committees. They are making the trip by automobile, taking a leisurely drive through the Smokies and plan to return byway of Florida’s west coast stopping off to visit friends at Clearwater and Winter--1 haven.

Weatherhead Clipper Wins Commodore's Cup
The Weatherhead Clipper, a three-mast clipper ship manned by a crew of eight, walked off with the Father's Day Flotilla on Lake Wawasee. Last year a Weatherhead pirate ship won judge’s choice. Other winners were: Top Pop Choice — Harold Kitson Plumbing and Heating. Queen s Choice — Auer’s Service Station. Flotilla Committee Choice — Gemini 9, entered by a group of Huntington students. Judge’s Choice — Syracuse Calvary EVB church. Short on Entries There was a scarcity of entries in this year’s Flotilla, but those entered were of good quality. A WOWO announcer on a stationary location, said 45 units participated. An outstanding attraction, of course, was the Queen’s float, on which Flotilla Queen Cassie Wells and her princesses rode. Riding the lead boat, a 30-foot Chris-Craft own&l by Mr. and Mrs. Ace Collins, were the Top Pop, special guest for the gala week end, and his wife. They were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harman of r 1 Akron. Mr. Harman expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended him ‘ during his stay at the lake. He is employe at an Akron lumber company an<; is the father of four: Keith. 12, 11, Paula, 8, and Brenda. 3. Seen By Thousands The Flotilla was seen by thousands at a number of publk view points around Lake Wawasee. The weather was perfect for the event. Literally hundreds of boats followed the Flotilla around the big lake, with amateur photographers taking pictures. A special attraction was a kite skier, who maneuvered skillfully around the lake, at times rising to several hundred feet above the water.. Tom Prkkett, general chairman of the Flotilla, said he was disappointed in the number of participating units, but expressed hope for greater organization and greater participation in next year’s event. Judges Sunday were Prickett, Bill Beemer, Jim Caskey, Jack Vanderford, Robert Hafthan, Queen Cassie and Arch Baumgartner.
