Young People Escape Serious Injuries Sunday Several young persons from Pierceton and this area escaped serious injury it is believed when the automo bile in which they were riding wai struck by a pick-up truck about 6:3( Sunday night at Delphi. The drive! of the car, Steve Brown, receivec the most severe injuries, mostly tr the head and face. The injuries required 17 stitches on the forehead as ter which Brown was taken to the Purdue infirmary where he is a student at the university. Brown was driving a 1966 Chevrolet belonging to his father, Alton Brown of near Pierceton, when the accident occurred. The truck reportedly did not obey a traffic signal and collided with the Brown auto. Other occupants of the Brown auto who were not believed to be injured were Jack Harter, Miss Karen

Brown and the Misses Wright and Van Wormer are students at Purdue university and the other young persons planned on returning to this area later Sunday night No further information is available at press time. Jack Harter, who returned to Pierceton after the accident, and Mrs. Alton Brown went to Delphi Monday and were unable to be reached. It was reported a small child riding in the pick-up truck was thrown through the windshield, but not believed hurt, nor was the driver of the truck.

'Mother Nature's Back Yard' Is Theme For Pack Meeting At Milford
Pack 47 of Milford cub scouts ] met in the fire station on Monday night. “Mother Nature’s Back Yard” was the theme carried out by the six dens. Cubmaster Frank Scott presided over the meeting which was opened by den 2. Awards were presented by achievements manager Kenny Goshert. Those receiving awards were: Steve McFarren, wolf badge and one gold arrow; John Fisher, gold arrow; Mark Goshert, gold arrow; and Tim Campbell, bear badge and gold arrow. The parents and cubs were entertained by den 4’s skit on backyard mischief and den 5 presented a comedy wispering routine. The theme of “Mother Nature’s Back Yard” was carried out by dens 6 and 7. Gourd wren houses, bird baths and plants and seedlings were shown as some of the projects made by the cubs. Cubmaster Scott announced the plans for an active summer program and appointed committees. The occasion was in celebration of Mrs. McConnell’s birthday.
