Reasons To Cast Vote For Matty Jones For Trustee
Just want to have a little chat with you folks. In my opinion Turkey Creek is the most outstanding township in the county because of the wonderful people living in it. Now when you stop to think about the qualifications of a trustee to look after your township, maybe 1 can help you by mentioning what I think are some of the important ones. First of all, it needs someone who can give its duties undivided attention and someone who knows the township. It needs a trustee to devote his full time to the dutie» jjequired. You need a person who is interested in civic affairs and in the growth and prosperity of the area he serves. The township trustee is a close relative to the Town where our fire department is concerned. Now here I have to get a little boastful because the fire department is myi>aby. Their duty is to protect lives and the 45 to 50 million dollars worth of property in the township, as well as protecting industries. Projecting fire losses in industry means out-of-job conditions for our people, also affecting the prosperity of the community when a payroll ceases. Whether you know it or not, you have a fire department to be proud of— it was a struggle

to get it where it is today, but your volunteers are well orientated on fire fighting, first aid, and they spend much of their time, with very little reimbursement, furthering their knowledge to protect you. Several years ago I made a study of how our township could be protected at all points. Naturally, we could not get to east enck and south side of the township as fast as might be needed. So we have had a contract with the Cromwell (Sparta Township, Noble County) fire department to handle anything in the east end while we are on the way. North Webster (Tippecanoe Township) takes care of the south side of the township while we are getting there. These reciprocal agreements mean we have fast and full coverage of the entire township. We have been working on, and are about to get, a fire insurance classification from the Indiana Rating Bureau that will lower your fire insurance premiums by about 18%. Now, how about that? 1 just can’t help feeling that my efforts as your trustee have had a lot to do with this. Guess I have carried on about enough, so will close our little chat with the hope you will keep these facts in mind when you vote for a candidate for Turkey Creek Township Trustee next Tuesday.
