Basketball Ends With Milford-Webster Winners

The regular season on basketball games came to an end last Friday with Milford and North Webster winning and Syracuse being defeated. The Trojans from North Webster topped off their season with a vk> / tory over the Bulldogs from South Whitley (58-53) to gain the coveted silver hopa* >hoe. Milford traveled to South Bend to meet Jackson on the John Adams court and add another victory to their season’s record. The Trojans downed the host team 9470. The siren replaces one that has been in use about 40 years.

Ray Yoder of Syracuse has gone to Florida for several weeks of fishing off the Florida Keys. James Slabaugh has returned to his home at Clearwater, Fla., after spending five days with his mother, Mrs. Court Slabaugh. ' Mr. and Mrs. Clem Lisor II of Syracuse are spending a three week vacation at the Florida Keys. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Schiotterback and family. Syracuse, had as recent guests Mr. and Mrs. Benny Baker and daughter of Painwell, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Schmidt of Lafayette called on friends in the : Syracuse area Friday and Saturday. The new unit is a ten horsepower siren and has 12 directional horns in a circular formation. It was installed on the tower where the old one was, near Main street and Dolan drive at the town garage and pumping station. During the installation the fire department received a call to a trash fire two miles south of Syrlacuse on state road 13. It was quickly extinguished by the firemen.
