Claypool Defeats Syracuse 94-67 On New Year's Eve # ■

By KERMIT WELTY The Syracuse Yellow Jackets fell at the hands of the Claypool Knights New Year’s eve on the Jackets’ hardwood. The final score was 94-67. Th<* Jackets while waddling around the court during the first quarter played a very good second period But they lacked the needed boost to slop the Knights. The Jackets found it hard to stop McKinzie. Claypool’s 6‘ 7” center, as he netted 32 points in the scoring department. Doug Ault <■ was also working hard as lie followed with 26 points for the Knights. If a few other Jackets would have matched Longenbaugh's 21 points, it would have been a closer game. Other players in the double figures were Bauer and Wortinger. both of Syracuse, with 14 and 11 points, respectively; and Shively of Claypool with 10 points. Syracuse Cubs Hold December Pack Meet

The cub scouts of Syracuse held their December pack meeting recently with deh 1 giving the opening. Each den made homemade decorations for the Christinas tree. They decorated the tree and sang , a carol with skits being* given on tiie carols. Den .3 used "Silent Night," den 2 used "Away in a Manger." den 5 used “We Three Kings" and "Oh Come All Ye Faithful.". Caroline Sue Eppert And William Jerry Hess Married In Milford Thursday

The home of Rev. and Mrs. Eknery Klopenstrin at Milford was the scene of the Thursday evening wedding of William Jerry Hess and Caroline Sue Eppert, both of Syracuse. The bride is the daughter of Mis. Rosia eppert of 113 west Boston street, Syracuse. The bridegroom, Mho is in the navy, is the son of the Syracuse fire chief and I Mrs. William Hess. | Rev.. The bride appeared in an aqua blue street length gown. Miss Hess wore a blue suit. Reception Follows Following the ceremony a reception was held for the immediate families in the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Hess at 125 Nohh street, Syracuse. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hess attended Syracuse high school. Mr. Hess is returning to duty. tomorrow. MAX BROEKERS INJURED Max Brockets, termed as the best straight up jumper on the Syracuse varsity squad, has been side-lined with an ankle injury. He will not play this evening. The ankfe was injured as the Jackets were preparing for the county tourney and Broekers was jumping.
