Rev. Linn To Leave For Florida Pastorate
Rev. Brooks Linn, pastor of the North Webster Church of God, will preach his last sermon at the North Webster church on Sunday, Dec. 19 He will leave December 20 for Palm Beach Garden, near West Palm Beach, Fla., where he will serve as pastor of the First Church of God. , Rev. Brother of Former Resident Dies Saturday At Logansport Hospital
The brother of a former resident of the North Webster and surrounding community. Herbert White, 52. died on Saturday at the Memorial hospital at Logansport. He suffered a heart attack while sleeping on Friday night. The deceased was the brother or Mrs Ray (Mary Jane) Bjgler of Detroit who formerly lived at North Webster. Mr. White was born in Whitey County, the son of' the late Charles C and Virginia Hughes White. Saturday night following major surgery at the Owensboro - Daviess county hospital in Owensboro, Ky Death was due to heat failure Services were held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon. Survivws include the wife, who is known in this community; a daughter. Mrs J. L. Pearson; and a son. George; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; all

I Charm *N’ Chatter I Installs New Officers The Charm N" Chatter home demonstration club held its annual'tmas party in Rubies party home at Milford with a ham and ; chicken d-nner at 7 o'clock last j Mondav night. Mrs ’I. H. Valentine. Mrs Richard Diddier, Mrs John Valentine. .Mrs. Gilbert Baunle. Mrs Cecil Lindty, and Mrs. Howard Woodworth’were guests. Twenty members attended. The following, new. officers were installed for the coming year by Mrs. George Staples; Mrs. Herbert Brunner, president; Mrs. Sherman Bryant, vice president; Mrs. Nellie Henderson, secretary; and Mrs. Lester Kline, treasurer. Doot prizes were presented to Mr< Vern Hunt. Mrs. Paul Scott and Mrs. Lester Kline. Secret pals were revealed and names were drawn for pals for next year. Recordings of Christmas music were enjoyed throughout the evening and festivities ended with . group singing of “I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day.” the song of the month. i CHARITY-ETTES HAVE CHRISTMAS ’ PARTY AT BREMEN The Charity-Eltes chib of Milford held its Christmas party in the Kopper Kettle restaurant at Bremen on Saturday evening. Dec. 11. The hostesses for the party were ' Misses Joan Stretmatter and Carol Weisser The tables were decorated with greenery and candles and angels. Each guest found a miniature angel at her place. The ladies were served a delicious swiss steak dinner with all the trimmings. After dinner a poem. "The Bethlehem Inn." was read and games were played. Just prior to the business meeting secret pals were revealed in a gift exchange. During the business session an election was held with the following results. President. Edna Lehman: secretary, Virginia Beer: treasurer, Kathleen Pfister; devotions. Ilene Kammerer and Carol Weisser: and card committee, Cynthia Beer and Evelyn Beer.

David is a senior and Joanna is a fifth grader, both at North Webster. --

Mrs Bigler mentioned above and Mrs. Betty Brosman of Columbia City. Funeral services were held yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon in Columbia City and burial was in the Greenhill cemetery.

Suspend Three Larwill Players
Three members of the Larwill Trojan basketball team were suspended from the team for the remainder of this year, it was learned this week. The suspension action was taken by principal Gardner Egner and I coach Jerry Minton following an in- . vestigation by state police, the Whitley county sheriff’s department, and the Whitley county probation officer into incidents involving the three Trojans. As high as eight Larwill students could be involved in the incidents when investigation is completed, principal Egner stated. BUSY BEE CLUB HAS CHRISTMAS PARTY The Busy Bee club Milford held its Christmas party at the Wagon Wheel restaurant at Warsaw on Friday evening, Dec. 10. Members were seated around a large table decorated with miniature gold and white Christmas trees. At each place of the 15 members and guest, Mrs. Sue Frenger, was a Santa favor containing a red wash cloth for his cap. The lovely decorations were made by the committee which consisted of Mrs. Alvin Waldbeser. Mrs. Ralph Miller and Mrs. James Chambers. i After dinner Mrs. Cleveland | Shuder presided over a short business meeting. The ladies set Tuesday, Dec. 14. as a night of carding and distributing. Christmas plates. Gifts were given to the ’ mental health patients. : The club will sponsor an eight-year-old child through the Christian’s Children Fund for the coming year.

Principal Egner told The Pierce- ' ton Press on Monday that Plummer and Tuttle are suspended from the basketball team and all extracurricular activities for the remainder of the year. Walter has just been suspended from the basketball team, other action pending his good behaviour the rest of the year. Principal Egner said no formal charges have been brought against the three youths as yet, but that he surmised charges in circuit court and juvenile court would be entered before the week is out.
