In his new position. Mr. Spurgeon is in charge of the third-party procedures branch in the bureau of health insurance, which adminisers the Medicare program. Spurgeon is a graduate of Ligonier high school, South Bend College of Commerce and attended law : school at. the University of Baltimore We also received special training in the U. S. army and served as a special agent in the J counter intelligence corps in the South Pacific during World War 11. Deaths Ray Leamon Ray Leamon, 31, died in the veterans hospital. Fort Wayne, Thursday at 1:35 a.m., of cancer. He had been ill for 11 months. He was a resident of the Ligonier community until the last four years when he became office manager for Interstate Finance Corp., and had resided in Angola, Anderson and Peru. He was a member of the Ligonier EUB church and a veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Charlene; two sons, Marty and Monty; three brothers, Rex, Richmond, Kenny, Cromwell and Kermit, Ligonier; and two sisters, Mrs. Jerry Casselman, Decatur and Joyce Leamon, Cromwell. Serices,were held in the Ligonier EUB church. Saturday at 1 p.m. with Rev. C. R. Bitzer officiating. Burial was in Oak Part cemetery. Leo Harold Dull Services were held in the Ulrej Sedgwick funeral home, Ligonier yesterday at 1:30 for Leo Ha role Dull, 75, of Kimmell. Mr. Dull died at the home of hi son, Orval, one mile east of Kim mell, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. H< had been ill seven months. He wa born June 9, 1890, in Noble count: and had spent his entire life in th< community. He, was a retired rail road employee. His wife, Vera, died in 1955. BEVERFORDENS RETURNING TO LIGONIER Former residents, Mr. and Airs Raul Beverforden, who have resid ■ed in Columbus, 0., for the pas five years, will be returning thi: month to their home at 701 Granc street, Ligonier. Mr. Beverforden has been em ployed by the National Safety Coun cil as district director in Ohio anc West Virginia. He was traffic anc industrial safety consultant of the two states. Beverforden, formerly with the Indiana state police, began his career at the Ligonier post. Before going to Columbus he was the excutive officer of the safety department in Indiana. Mrs. Beverforden taught in the Ligonier elementary school for many years.
