Vanlaningham of r 2 Milford are the parents of a son, Rodney Dale, bom Friday, Oct. 1, at the Goshen hospital. Rodney Dale weighed in at eight pounds, four ounces. He has two brothers. Eddie and Ray, Maternal grandmother is Mrs. Florence Thompson of Hardinsburg and Mrs. Charles Vanianingham of Marengo. Deaths * Ira Rothenberger Last rites were held at 2 p.m., ' Monday, Oct. 4. for Ira Rothenberger, 89 ; a well known North Webster resident and former business man, in the North Webster Methodist church. Rev. Charles I. Johnson officiated. Interment was in the North Webster cemetery. The Har-ris-Troxel funeral home of North Webster was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Rothenberger died at 8:45 p.m. October 1, at his home and was due to complications. He had been ill for a long time but was completely bed fast for the past few weeks. He was bom on September 9, 1876, to Rev. Daniel Rothenberger and Mary Jane (Mock) Rothenberger, in the North Webster area, and was a resident of Kosciusko county his entire life. He was married for many years to Clara Kiser, who preceded him in death in 1929. In 1981 he married Elizabeth Banning, who survives. Mr. Rothenberger was well known throughout the entire county. He was the funeral director and owner of the Rothenberger funeral

Walter Lippincott Walter Lippincott, 79, of Milford died unexpectedly of a heart ailment at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at his home. Mr. Lippincott was bom near Van Wert, Ohio, on January 27, 1886, the son of Moses and Saloma (Donner) Lippincott. He was united in marriage to Lulu Pinkerton on February 26. 1908, and she preceded him in death in 1933. A member of the Milford Christian church, Mr. Lippincott had been a resident of the Milford community, where he operated a general delivery business, since 1917. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Miller and one son, Devon i Lippincott, both of Milford: one ' sister Miss Libbie Lippincott of the ; Methodist Memorial Home at Warren: five grandchildren and nine i great-grandchildren Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Milford Christian church. Rev. Carl Shearer officiated and interment was in the New Salem cemetery, east of Milford. Mrs. Edith O’Donnell Mrs. Edith O’Donnell, 89, of North Webster died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 3. at the Alfran nursing home Death was due to complications. Mrs. O’Donnell had been in failing health for the past two years, although she continued to operate a home where she rented rooms to tourists in the town of North Webster until her death. Mrs. O’Donnell was bom June 23, 1876. She was married to George O’Donnell, who preceded her in death many years ago. Mrs. O’Donnell at one time owned the North Webster Milling company, during 'which time they resided at Weimer’s I landing on the east side of Webster 'lake. In 1944 the mill was sold to i Mike Long and sons of Larwill, who I operated it until it was destroyed by i fire in 1949. The only survivor is a nephew, Chester A. Scheal of Erie, Pa. Funeral services and interment will- be held in Erie. Pa. The HarmsTroxel funeral home North Webster was in charge of arrangements. ’One Way To Go' Says Coach Workman *‘One way to go —” was the statement made by Syracuse high school basketball coach Ken Workman earlier this week when ques- ( tioned about his team. He also stated the enthusiasm was high and he expected a fair J season. i The new Syracuse coach began practice on Saturday morning and i expects some 55 freshmen through . seniors to try out for the teams. 1 Soon this number will be cut to 1 25 for both the A and B teams.
