The 1966 Cadillac styling story is highlighted from the rear by a redesigned deck lid, new lighting in restyled bumper outers, and a new rear bumper with the lower half painted in body color. A striking new front appearance is achieved through the reduction of chrome and particular attention to lighting detail. It remains unmistakably Cadillac, retaining the traditional cross-hatch grille design.

Letters To The Editor

Doctor Availability

Dear Editor, I moved to Syracuse with my family one year ago and have been very happy here. I chose a doctor in whom I have much confidence, but I am worried about the medical situation concerning the unavailability of any of the doctors here after office hours are over. I have heard of too many cases where people have been in an emergency situation and not been able to find a doctor. An emergency is just as much an emergency on Sunday afternoon as it is on Wednesday morning. A man doesn’t have to become a doctor, but once he is a doctor he has a very real responsibility to

the people he serves. A life of ser- 1 vice is not an easy one and no one : can expect a doctor to be available every hour every day. But certainly three good doctors could work out some sort of call system to provide a .town this size with a , resonable amount of emergency service. It is unfortunate that medicine in Syracuse has become a nine to five proposition. I don’t believe that any doctor enters the profession with this in mind. What would we do if the doctors in Goshen, Warsaw, or Elkhart also worked on a nine to five basis? Should these doctors, who have their own patients in their own communities be expected

to take over for a Syracuse physician if dje injury or illness falls after office hours. I realize that doctors get calls from ail sorts of hypochondriacs who need a doctor to apply a bandaid or bless a sneeze, but can they conscientiously overlook that one call in ten that is legitimate — that is truly a matter of life-or death? Up to now I have been one of the lucky ones. I have never needed a doctor after hours and I have never had to ask a doctor to make a house call. But what happens when I do???
