Mr. Calnon said the stipulations were for the unit to repair and I maintain the building. The repairs consist of tearing down a lean-to. new siding and new windows and frames, on the exterior. In the interior the floor needs to be repaired and water and sewer facilities installed. Mr. Schlotterback told the board he had looked at the building and discussed it with his board members and they were, of an opinion the unit could finance the cost of materials and the members would ' frunish the labor. Robert, Reed, town attorney, was instructed to draw up an agreement between the town and the Syracuse unit of Ciivil Defense on < the use ot the building Mr. Calnon told the board members he felt the town had neglected the local CD unit and if the town w’ere to show more interest, the public would also. Board president Byron Connolly
presented the Scout cabin problem to the board. He stated the cabin board had asked if it were possible to include the cabin’s insurance in the town’s "package deal” insurance. The cabin board would then re-imburse the town for the insurance premium. Christian Koher. the insurance agent, stated this could be done since the town holds some insurance on all its properties. Since there is some misunderstanding concerning the ownership of the Scout cabin Mr. Reed was instructed to call a meeting with all sponsoring organizations to establish ownership Following the regular business clerk-treasurer Walter Calnon told board members there has been an out break of rabies in the state and several counties are now under quarantine. Walter Hagerdon. street commissioner. thanked Joe Hughes for his help in clearing away trees and
other help following the recent storm. Mr. Connolly also thanked Mr. Hughes, in behalf of the town. Attending the meeting were Mr. Calnon, Mr. Reed, Mr. Connolly, and board member, Vernon Beckman, Loren Longenbaugh. Mrs. Frank Bates; and Williard Nusbaum. Mr. Hagerdon, Mr. Hughes, Air. Schlotterback, Mr. Koher, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sparklin. Mrs. Betty Dust and Dan Ganger, police chief.
