Seek Competitive Bids For New Pierceton Post Office
Pu.stina.4cr General Lawrence F. O’Brien announced today that the post office department is seeking competitive bids to build and lease the new post office at Pierceton, Indiana. The purpose of competitive bidding. Mr O’Brien said, is to encourage the most attractive and economical offer to the Government in line with President Johnson’s economy program to achieve the best possible postal service at the least possible cost. RAY FERVERDA Special music during the hour of worship on Sunday morning was presented by the Rose Bud trio, Melinda, Melissa and Melodie, the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Tom. Jr. The girls were accompanied by their mother. Visitors attending services on I Sunday forenoon were Mr. and Mrs. Jonah Miller of Wakarusa and Miss Shirley Johnson of Garrett, who were spending a few days in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Darryl Johnson and children, Mark and Dtarme, at Milford. Mrs. Ruth Stout Gump of Sebring, Fla., has suffered another heart attack. She is in the intensive care room in the hospital at Sebring. Mrs. Ruth DeF-ies. r 1. Mrs. Virginia Bockman of North Webster, Mrs. Jennie Neibert and Mrs. Zoa Metcalf, both of near Shoe I Lake, enjoyed dinner together on Sunday. They spent the afternoon in the home of Mrs. Metcalf. A birthday dinner was prepared Saturday evening in the home of Mr. and Airs. Ray Ferverda for their great-grandson. Billy Baumgartner. who was four-years-old on M »nday. Guests were Mrs. Baumgartner and Clara Driver. Billy and his mother spent Sunday in Chicago with Mr. Baumgartner. DOERS CLASS HAS ! Families of class members and guests, Mr. and Mrs. Jonah Miller of Wakarusa, Shirley Johnson, Clara Driver, Ed Smith and Gerald Grove and Mrs. Dorothy Williams, a teacher in the Milford school, were present for the dinner. After dinner Darryl s Johnson presided during a short business -meeting. Many verses of scripture were read during the devotional period by Mrs. Glen Morehouse. Robert Hurd offered prayer and Mrs. Hurd i itroduced Mrs. Williams who spoke. Mrs. Williams has recently returned to Milford after serving two years teaching in Ghana, West Africa. She talked and showed film of the Concrete Bungalow where she lived. She told of the great differences of school wor k there and here.
