Waubee Grange Elects Officers
The Waubee Grange at its regular meeting last Thursday evening at the hall held an election of officers for the coming year. The results are as follows: master, Ray Bray; overseer, Raymond Pinkerton; lecturer, Mrs. Max Anglin; steward, Herman Miller; assistant steward. Robert Hollar; chaplin, Mrs. Lloyd Felkner; treasurer, Lloyd Felkner; secetrary, Mrs. Glen Pinkerton; Cres, Mrs. Herman Miller; Pamona, Mrs. Ray Bray; Fiori, Mrs. Glen Pinkerton and lady assistant steward, Mrs. Robert HoQar. The executive committee is Marshall Estep, three year member; Max Anglin, two year member and Earl Wolferman, one (year member. The pianist is Mrs. Otto Wiggs and assistant is Mrs. Esther Charlton. Hie installation service for the new officers will be held at the St.-Mar-Kos Pomona grange hall at Bremen on Thursday evening. September 16. service will follow. It will be conducted by the Fairview grange youth team of Elkhart. In the meeting which preceded the election master Earl Wolferman presided. Thirteen officers answered roll call and the salute to ' the flag was given. The song “America The Beartiful” was sung by the group. A letter was read from the state master and a thank you note from Otto Wiggs was also read. Pie and Apron Contest The Home Economics committee held their apple pie contest and fancy apron contest following the meeting. Judges were Mrs. Don Davidsen and Miss Barbara t>avis who were adult and junior 4-H leaders for the girls clubs in Van Buren township. Winners in the pie event were first. Mrs. Earl Wolferman; second. Mrs Herman Miller and third, Mrs. Marshall Estep. Winners in the fancy apron division were first. Mrs. Miller; second, Mrs. Harold Manor and third, Mrs. Lloyd Felkner. The historical sampler for the grange contest was also displayed. A silent auction was held of the articles judged and the proceeds were turned over to the grange.

Orders were taken for items from, the national gauge. Refreshments of ice cream, pie and iced tea were served by the home economics committee. The next meeting will be a booster night program with the date to be announced later. ( ■ | RETURN FROM FISHING TRIP Dan Levemier, Wade Mishler, R. E. Slabaugh, Elmer Rassi, Oliver' Replogle, Ren Clark and Clyde Hamilton, all of Milford, ami John Leming of Ligonier returned last Sunday from Cadillac, Mich, where they spent a few days fishing. FOUR PERSONS TICKETED BY MILFORD POLICE Four persons have been ticketed recently by Ralph Gansert of the Milford police department. They follow: Dianne H. Dwyer, 17, Milford, was arrested on Saturday for disregarding a stop sign. Timothy L. Walter, 20, r 2 Culver, was arrested on Monday for violation of the muffler law. He appeared before justice of the peace Harry Dale Doty and was fined $19.25. He was then jailed for nonpayment of fine. Wendell Patrick of r 1 Milford was arrested on Sunday for assault and battery and for public intoxication. He was sent to jail and bond was set at SSO. The case dismissed from the JP court and transferred to the Warsaw city court. He appeared September 15. Marie LeCount, 70, r 2 Syracuse, was arrested on Monday for fail- . uro to yield the right-a-way.
