But they tend to become lost in the face of the widespread belief that government “gives” us things. The truth is that government can “give” nothing. HEX RURAL CLUB ELECTS OFFICERS The Hex Rural Home Demonstration did) held its annual picnic Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Orlie Browns at Lake Wawasee. There were 17 members and three children present. In the afternoon Mrs. Darr, president, opened the meeting with the dub creed. Mrs. Eugene Moser gave the det otions taken from Proverbs 11-30. During the business session. the following officers were elected for 1966: Mrs. Don Sheline. president; Mrs. Tom Robinson, yice president; Mrs. Milton Shuder, secretary, with Mrs. Gene Mock assistant and Mrs. John Emmert Jr„ re-elected treasurer. Mrs. William gave the history of the song of the month, “While Strolling Through the Park One Day,” and led in group singing. Roll call response was a Bible verse. Mrs. Arthur Sliannon gave the health and safety remarks on “Save Your Vision.” The president read the Elkhart County Home Demonstration dub camp program which will be hdd at Camp Mack September 13-14. The project lesson entitled “Vegetables” was presented by Mrs. Clark Bender. Hostesses were Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Eugene Brown, and Mrs. Clarence Snyder. Mrs. Merle Darr gave the table grace. The birthday softg was sung for "Mrs. Ted Vorhis and Mrs. Herbert Blue.
